Rooney Mara for Interview Magazine

Audreybot gets the opportunity work a lens for Interview and runs with it.

Rooney Mara covers the March 2013 issue of Interview magazine photographed by Mikael Jansson.

On reviews: “I tend to not put too much credence in what other people think, but then, of course, you are curious as to what other people think and you want people to respect you. So, I don’t know. At the end of the day, I am so much more critical of myself than anyone else could be, and I know when something I’ve done is really bad or kind of good.”

On nudity: “I certainly don’t want to be involved in anything that is gratuitous, but I don’t think the human body is something to be ashamed of. Every other person on the planet has the same parts as I do. So seeing them shouldn’t be a huge shock to most people.”

She really needs to take a page from Tilda Swinton and Cate Blanchett and just take an entire year or two to allow herself to be feted by the fashion world. It should be glossy editorial after glossy editorial, straight down the line. Our point: she’s that rare star who’s possibly better at modeling than she is at her chosen profession. We’d say the same about Swinton and Blanchett, who are also world-class in their modeling skills, but they’ve long since proven themselves to be equally as world class in their acting abilities.

We don’t mean that Rooney should give up acting – or even that she’s not a good actress. We’re just saying that Swinton and Blanchett really benefited from working their naturally chic selves to the delight of the fashion world and wound up getting a lot of fantastic press for it. So much so, that neither of them seem to feel that they need to do it all that often anymore. Rooney’s a good actress and a promising talent and she’s just post-fetally young. She’s got a hot career ahead of her if she does it right. Work that lens every chance you get, girl. You’re building an image click by click of the shutter.
