SHE is gorgeous. But I am a left a little unsatisfied at the lack of variety in what is being served up. It’s all Miranda with her hair over one shoulder staring intently into the camera. LEGS! Again, nothing wrong, but nothing giving me life.

What is going on in the lower right corner of the cover?? Is that her leg? Why is it so much shinier and darker than the rest of her? Why is it so wide for what must be a shin? It has to be her shin by there, right, because her butt is at the R in “future?” It cannot be her thigh because then I should be able to see her knee…

Unquestionably goddess material. But, cannot make heads nor tails of that left leg in the cover shot – wtf is it doing? Why is it so weird? Does she have a knee under there? Is this a composite shot? Where is her butt? The right, bent leg seems to emanate from her crotch. Oh well, never mind…she’s still goddess material.

You know, TLo, I appreciate your comment about models being on the covers of magazines. I miss those days. Anna W is credited with putting celebs on the cover of American Vogue, and starting this godawful trend that WILL NOT DIE. Now that she has been made creative director of Conde Nast, every single issue of every single Conde Nast publication will be all-celebrity, all-the-time. Just watch. It’s going to be gross.

As as photoshopper, I always examine the work. Vogue creates extremely skilled altered bodies to the point of changing anatomy. Legs are elongated, hips disappear, and limbs jut out of impossible places. I look and enjoy the details, which many may miss, such as in this series her eyebrows completely change shape, arch and thickness and is not accomplished by make up. Each photograph is handled uniquely to bring out its maximum intent, and is why you often see the subject not looking like themselves from image to image, such as breasts blossoming then disappearing, in a particular series.

She is ridiculously gorgeous, and that Prada coat is something I am now obsessing over. I do miss seeing models on the cover of American Vogue. I remember as a tween and teen in the ’70′s being transfixed by Lauren Hutton, Beverly Johnson, Karen Graham, Rosie Vela, and my personal fave, Dayle Haddon month after month. And of course the “Supermodels” of the early 90′s…alas…

I am befuddled by the first photo in that I can’t figure out the limbs, her left leg seems so huge and weirdly long compare d to the left one (the one that is folded up). I’m really thrown off by the first photo, its like one leg was photoshopped on.
