Pretty, though I don’t love the unnecessary keyhole cutout at the neckline. The way she’s holding her skirt so it flares out is irrationally annoying me.
Perfectly rational. I want to smack that skirt of her hands and hiss “Stop clowning around missy!”
Seriously, we know it’s A-line. You don’t need to literally hold it out so that everyone can see. Still all-in-all it’s a pretty cute dress.
I was in NYC yesterday to see The View; it was cold. It was damn cold. It was damn cold and windy. Why are all these women in NYC wearing sleeveless dresses? Are they insane?
I doubt it’s the case with all the lady celebs, but I wear sleeveless all year round unless it dips to below zero weather. Depends on the body temperature.
I’m the one wearing long sleeves in August.
sockless year round, flip flops unless the weather is sub zero. You know how they say you loss heat out your head? I’m the opposite. If my feet are confined, I get hot and start sweating.
Moi aussi. And I live in the DC area, where August equals Hell.
That’s for sure, neighbor!!!
I wear long sleeves year round. During summer (in the deep south, no less), every building seems to put the air on like 60F which is freezing for indoors.
And no stockings to boot. She looks way underdressed and out of season.
That is some effortless hair. As in “she didn’t put any effort in”.
And I’d like the fabric of the dress more if it was a coat.
Agree on both counts. Hair is a greasy, stringy, sloppy mess. Pity, because she’s a pretty woman. I love the fabric of the dress but the pose is a little too coy and silly for me. The dress fabric would be a stunning coat.
I know–why is she holding out her damn skirt?
A sleek ponytail without the droopy sides would have been so much better. The hair bugged me more than the pose.
Yeah, fabric is heavy and mannish looking. Looks strange in a girly type dress. Would have loved it as a coat or a jacket with cool pants.
You are only allowed to hold the sides of your skirt out if you are 6.
AND you need to twirl around and around while you’re holding it out for at least 15 seconds, or until you’re dizzy – whichever comes first.
Very cute! The dress has pockets, though, so I can’t imagine why she wanted to pose like Dorothy after a square dance, when she could get almost the same effect with hands in pockets. Because, pockets… you know?
It is a very lovely dress. But why the hell is she posing holding it out like that in all the photos?! Is she hiding something behind her bum?
It’s a’ight. I don’t like the shoe, but the dress is inoffensive enough. I just hope she’s not getting kidnapped in this.
If you’re going to hold out your skirt, at least curtsy for pete’s sake.
She does not look like a happy camper.
Very forever 21
That skirt is only passable for a 21-year-old, if you serve beer in Germany or run through the Austrian mountainside singing “The hiiills are aliiive”.
Can everyone get these clichés out of their system please? I know they are supposed to be funny, but I just can’t hear them anymore.
that background is not helping her on any level. The dress on the model is really cute, and it should be cure on Ms Grace (who I know nothing about) but I feel it is fighting with that really heavy background.
I like everything from hem up to the black at the very top of the bodice. I don’t know if it’s cut too busily (why the keyhole?) or it just is a tad too much black for my sense of balance.
Way too girly for her. She’s a very beautiful, strong looking woman. The matchy accessories aren’t helping her case.
This is clearly Emma Watson’s dress. Ship it off to her with love.
Agreed. She continues to wear looks that don’t match her strong looks. She needs a new stylist, STAT.
I like this dress, but overall she’s not living up to its potential. Her hair needs to be up and off of her face. And the shoes could have been amazing… I give her look a 6, but this was an opportunity to be an 8.
Also, she looks upset.
Brings to mind the words of Parker Posey in Dazed and Confused: “Wipe that face off your head, bitch!”
I’d like the dress better as a sheath, and her better with a berry-er lipstick and nicer hair. And more grown-up shoes.
Looks better with the model’s slightly looser fit but it’s cute… she looks like she is about to curtsy though
Talk about Minnie Mouse shoes!
The dress is cute, but a bodice like that needs to fit perfectly, or else it cuts into the flesh, giving that unfortunate underarm bulge.
I would have liked this dress if it were a sheath. The full skirt makes it too cutesy pie. And the shoes are a travesty. She also looks incredibly uncomfortable in it.
Yes dear, we see your dress. Now put it down so it lies properly.
It’s too twee for my taste. I can see Michelle Williams in this all day long, but it’s seriously underwhelming in this capacity.
Does the dress on the model have as much flare as the one on Maggie? Although it may be getting assistance from her “hills are alive” pose. Also, could it be the lighting that makes the model version more vibrant?
I wish every dress could have a pocket. I have a chronic whatdoidowithmyhands issue when I’m dressed up and sans child.
Works for me.
The dress is a little apron-y for me. And my goodness Maggie, don’t pose like that. You are a grown woman, not a toddler!
It looks like a dress I went to eighth grade in.
This dress is not right for a premiere. It needs to be edgier, or more formal. The look on her face says it all.
Love this. Wish I could afford it.
Upholstery, and not in a good way.
It’s meh really, it’s a pretty textile but the keyhole and the black panels don’t really make sense to me. I think it might have been cuter with a peter pan collar and a wide patent leather belt.
I feel like I shouldn’t like this, but I really, really do. It is silly how she’s holding out the skirt though.
EECCCKK! Paint-splattered print ! And ugly to boot!
it’s so cute! don’t do that with the skirt. you look dumb, sweetie.
The color as it appears on the model has so much more life to it than the dreary mauve on Maggie.
The design just works better in a brighter, more vivacious color.
Too heavy shoes.
Is it me, or does she bear a striking resemblance to Anna Paquin?
