Darlings, we feel bad. We’ve started off your one-less-hour-sleep workweek with some highly questionable fashion.

Allow us to make it up to you. Or better yet, allow Eva to make it up to you as she serves up Minnie Mouse realness.

Eva Mendes around East Village in New York City in a black and red polka dot dress paired with a Valentino bag.

The dress (?) is super-cute and looks comfy. Her bod looks amazing in it. We don’t mind the patterned tights too much, but it wouldn’t have been our idea to pair them with polka dots. That’s veering close to Cyndi Lauper, but for the most part, it’s inoffensive. We do have a problem with the boots and the purse, though. Neither of them really go with the outfit. Something lighter and more fun would have elevated things.

Still: quibbles. She looks sassy and fresh.

  That’s what I was thinking! I know they’re both “neutrals” but they don’t work here. I think if the boots & tights had been black this would have been much cuter.

I really like this dress…although it kind of looks more like a romper (?) in some of the pics, it’s still cute. I don’t like the brown tights or boots with the outfit though…they don’t quite go with the black & red to my eyes.

The gentleman in the excellent red coat is questioning her judgement in going out without a cardigan. I really like the dress but I would have thought this was an excellent time to deploy black tights.

    First thing I thought was how much his side eye and pursed lips cracked me up. Regarding Eva, I think she looks pretty Fab about 95% of the time, even some times when TLo did not.

I’m a 27 yr old gay man. Am I too old to wear a short sleeve white button down with navy polka-dots? It’s reserved for the Under 25 crowd so I don’t want to look like those guys that are in their 40s still wearing Abercrombie & Fitch.

  I agree with everyone’s support and, from my perspective: Wear it (polka dots and short sleeves) at 40 if it makes YOU feel good.
  Fashion is, to a large extent, in the attitude (I know some slammin’ 50 & 60 year old gym rats that wear Ab&Fitch as well as the young bucks…or even better, because it messes with people’s heads so much.)

This is a really cute dress. I love polka dots and I will wear them until I die .. I don’t care how old I am. Purse is okay for me .. would have preferred non-patterned tights and diff shoes, but still a nice cheerful look for a Monday on which I grossly overslept.

Are the polkadots black? I know it’s an outdated “rule,” but I really hate the brown of her tights and shoes together with the black dots on the dress. But the dress is cute enough, and Eva looks gorgeous re: hair and makeup.

I must be really grumpy because of lack of sleep. I absolutely hate that outfit. The fact that I like the boots, tights and bag and they are paired with that stupid romper dress thing makes her get-up even more loathsome.

I think she looks adorable. I’m going to say in regards to many of the comments, that all of the pieces are black but as we all know black goes to many undershades. From different angles the black polka dots go navy, the black stocking go from black to brown, the boots go from black to brown and even the expensive black purse goes slightly brown in a couple of shots. We always think packing all black for a trip is easy but then horrors(!!!) the carefully chosen pieces don’t match exactly in the current light.
