While we’ll never fail to appreciate a gal (or guy) who can work a stretch of sidewalk like it’s a runway, we can’t say we love this outfit all that much. That skirt is particularly unflattering. Cute jacket and bag, though. But everything feels kind of randomly thrown together. But hey, flip your hair and pop your hips like it’s couture, girl.

    Really? She’s been simply outstanding in her role as Fiona in Shameless this season. Her performance reduced me to tears two weeks ago. Of course, that’s acting, not sashaying. I think she’s still kind of new to the whole stylist / couture / sashay down the street to show off the purse and shoes thing.

the skirt seems a little big on her. the shoes are hooves. blazer and blouse are meh and the bag while fab, doesnt go.

somehow though, looking at her with it all together doesnt make my teeth itch. maybe because emmy’s so easy on the eyes.

Emmy Rossum seems to look good in most everything she wears, but even she can’t make a gathered-waist skirt and center-parted hair look great.

Somehow “Sashay, Shanté” was a tongue twister even in my head. Is that even possible?

She looks cute, but I feel like each piece here is slightly unflattering, and it’s not any better put together.

Hate that skirt! It’s a bit hard to tell, but I think I have shoes similar to those and I cannot sashay in them or I fall over on my face.

Aside from the sudden whoosh of wind (manufactured or otherwise) in the second picture, this whole ensemble, such as it is, just looks like schoolmarm chic. In and of itself, not bad, especially since the clothes happen to be gracing Miss Emmy, and she looks pretty good. But juxtaposing the outfit with phrases like “Sashay! Shanté!” and “Miss Thang” just gave my brain a cramp…even if meant ironically.

There is not way this did not take place in slow-motion.

I still feel that it may have been a mistake to tuck the shirt, or at least wear a skirt that high on her body. It makes the skirt look like boxing shorts.

I’m not sure when these photos were taken, but it’s been hovering between 80 and 90 in LA this week. It seems like it’d be really uncomfortable to wear a leather skirt and those closed-toe horse hooves in that weather.
