The Blonds Fall 2013 Collection inspired by classic Hollywood horror films.
All of it is absurdly perfect. Loving the fur straightjacket and the kitchen knife stepford wife dress.
Agreed. It looks like somebody’s idea of a joke collection.
Everytime I see one of their collections I feel as though someone lent them the catwalk for a spoof collection — and I keep looking for Ben Stiller.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen the Blonds credited with any outfit I’ve ever seen on a red carpet (or anywhere else).
I think Katy Perry has. But you certainly see them on stages. Perry, Rhianna and so forth.
Some of them are kind of interesting and even, possibly by the right person, wearable. A whole lot of costumey crack though.
God, yes. Especially the bloody shower curtain trench.
Well … it’s not boring.
I seriously covet that knife dress!
Me too! I want it desperately.
(hearts) LOVE (hearts)
This is so wonderful. (sighing)
Lord how I wish I could go to one of their shows someday.
I LOVE this! ART SHOW!
I wish we would see more absurdity like this on the RC. The knife dress is actually beautiful.
I love that. Oddly enough, my wardrobe longs for the Janet Leigh dress.
It took me a while to work out I was looking at knives…!
two words: fur. jumpsuit. and…..is that last model a dude?
Um, I think it’s Ice T’s wife Coco.
Coco has a much bigger badonka donk
Good call. In that case, I second the “dude” vote.
It’s Phillipe Blond.
The fur jumpsuit- Fashions by Cujo
These all look like Project Runway entries. I don’t think I mean that in a good way.
And even there they would say that some of these are way too literal. Even though I love the knife-dress.
Well, I can’t take any of it seriously, but it’s damn fun. Is that a mink jumpsuit? I die.
Though a stressed out, tactile gal like myself, could use a full on luscious straight jacket, so maybe there’s something to this after all.
i love cheeky fashion. its so great to see something that is not SO SERIOUS
Photo number one screams “RuPaul” (in a nice way.)
so does the last red gown
No, the last one belongs on Sharon Needles.
Yes, I thought that as soon as I saw the picture.
ALL of these belong on Sharon Needles.
The last red gown screams Playtex to me….
RuPaul/Raven/Sharon Needles/Jujubee etal.:
Line up, bitches, it’s next season’s wardrobe and real women are wearing it!
I was thinking the exact same thing. The final deep red paillette dress is Sharon Needles all day! ( I had to look twice because I almost though the model was Needles.
The Blonds or the Bonds? This looks like a collection for Bond girls!
Is the girl in the fur jumpsuit supposed to be the wolfman? What a fun show! The knife dress is calling my name. And now it’s telling me to do stuff. Ya know, chop veg, kill people, the usual.
It’s a sharp look.
I think this is the most fun collection I’ve seen of theirs (Admittedly I’ve only really followed fashion for a few years). It’s crazy in all the right ways. I can totally see Lady Gaga in almost all of these.
Interesting, but I think I only got half the references and at least 2 of them were obvious. (Amityville Horror & Psycho)
My guesses:1.__________, 2. The Birds, 3.__________, 4.Rope, 5.__________, 6.________, 7. Amityville Horror, 8.__________, 9._________, 10.Psycho, 11.also Psycho, 12.American Psycho, and I don’t get the rest at all.
I would say 6 (twins) and 7 (Jack Nicholson face) are Shining.
Thanks, not sure why I confused Amityville with The Shining
The gunmetal leotard with hanging chains evokes Suspiria, and the last gown is clearly Carrie. A number of these probably aren’t meant to represent specific films.
DUH! Why didn’t I know that? Of course it’s Carrie at the prom.
I thought The Birds for #1 as well. #7 is The Shining. #9 Silence of the Lambs? (hahaha!) perhaps #8 as well.
oh I love it when folks play along. I was wondering if #1 was The Birds as well, but never guessed Silence of the Lambs.
That’s admirable, that you knew even as many as you did. It just strikes me that it’s kind of literal, and that takes away some of the adventurousness. Is that a word? The risk taking is what I mean. Why should we have to known what every piece is referencing? That’s too much work for me!
Adventurousness works for me! It has a certain literary realness…;)
Well, #5 is made of chinchilla, so maybe it’s a play on chiller or thriller. Or it could be Cujo or something werewolf-y.
And I was sure that #8 was The Mummy. I didn’t even think of Silence of the Lambs.
Thanks for the end-of-the-week, Pre-Oscars, beautifully done, absolutely insane, beyond the pale Ca-razy. I hope whomever Jack Nicholson brings to the Oscars wears Number 7. Without the lapel pin.
OMG! I want that bloody raincoat! So shower curtain Psycho!
God, I LOVE THEM.
Way literal, but cheekily so. love the dress with the ‘slashes’.
That fur jumpsuit…looks insanely comfortable? I want it so I can lounge around the house in it. It’s like a crazy snuggie.
I thoroughly expect Gaga-As-Hitchcock-Blonde for a little while now. SO FAB.
Want the knife dress and the bloody shower-curtain raincoat.
Also the fur strait jacket looks really comforting. This may be the crazed neurotic in me talking though.
Gaudy in all the right ways.
Oh god. I want those bustiers. I want them and I want tall spiked heels to wear them with so I can march around everywhere looking fierce as all hell.
In other words, as absurd as all of these are, I’m absolutely in love.
Fun — insane….but then what horror movie based collection wouldn’t be.
I would like to see one of Chloe’s personalities in the Jack Nicholson T-shirt and fur coat.
The Stepford knife dress has Taylor Swift written all over it.
well, it made me laugh a couple of times… but i dont think its good for much else.
ok, on 2nd thought, katy perry may get a wear out of some of these.
I’m not really feeling this one. It looks like they cobbled together some of Thierry Mugler, Dolce and Gabbana, and Moschino cheap and chic more memorable looks and threw in a couple of badly screen printed T shirts.
The slashed and blooded bustier looks is okay, but my daughter made a knitted choker using the same idea, with red yarn and glass beads that looked less “crafty”.
Yes Blondes! I love this so much.
It’s a bigger posting of the show that I’ve been waiting for! These looks are all slightly maniacal perfection, from messy blonde bouffant to the touch of blood on their collars.
I want the raincoat. Now. Please.
defintely the best thing there!
That long, red gown screams RuPaul to me.
I want to see Scarlett Johansson wearing the dress with the Psycho picture printed, just to be cheeky about it.
The knife dress: want. Everything else: Lady Gaga rejects, by way of Zoolander.
The show of shows!
Oh, Angelina, your next dress has arrived (3rd from bottom). This collection is giving me a laugh for the day. Jaaaaaaack peeking out from under a fur coat: priceless! And I wish I owned one of those wigs.
I would wear that psycho dress.
Love it; well except the fur straight jacket. Just looked weird, like the model would fall flat on her face if she took another step.
I would so wear the knife dress.
I kind of like the nude dress with the gashes in red. But yeah, this seems to be geared for Lady Gaga.
How fun is this! Love the whole show
F A N T A S T I C
Love the slashed dress with beaded blood
LOVE IT! The bloody shower curtain trench coat is genius.
I’m going to need one of each of these.
Well… that was certainly interesting.
I think the straight jacket would be perfect for some Hollywood red carpet types……any suggestions??…..Lilo perhaps?
I don’t know . . . how can you not love this? How can it not bring a smile and a giggle to you?
Lady Gaga, your stage clothes are ready… (Especially love the Jack t-shirt with the fur coat!)
Hahaha, so true. They should just take out an exclusive contract with each other.
What a waste.
I love them so much. I realize it kind of looks like everything they do, but I love it anyway.
Knocking them for doing bustiers would be like complaining about DVF doing wrap dresses.
The Janet Leigh dress. I want.
This is inspired. Love it. The rope dress is giving me life. Who wouldn’t want HEEERE’S JOHNNY! exploding from your mid-section? Also…the knife dress needs to be in my closet NOW.
Such fun–the “Here’s Johnny” outfit killed me!
I kind of love all of these. Especially the dress that embodies a slasher flick. And the rope dress.
I always love this collection so much! I love the shear absurdity and perfectness of it all.
Oh my GOD this collection THRILLS ME TO THE CORE!!!
Sharon Needles would rock several of these looks.
Is… is that a faux fur jumpsuit?
The wigs…it looks like there were only two to work with, and each time a girl walked backstage, someone snatched the wig from her head and jammed it on the next to go. I love it.
I get the inspiration for most of them, but what do you think was the inspiration behind the first (the green one) and the little black and blue dresses? Some of them are clearly obvious, which makes me think I’m missing something equally obvious with those.
For the green I’m assuming The Birds as Tippi Hedren spent most of that film in a green suit, and at times had a fur.
I would lilke one of those wigs for days when I’m feeling especially unstable. It would be my “back away” wig.
A wig like that should really come with a bottle full of mood stabilizers.
Oh My Goodness. I NEED that first one so that I may strut onto the NYC subway from my house, make my way to Grand Central, sashay out into the streets, runway walk up 5th Avenue and into my office with it on and watch everyone in my office GAG from the grand epicness of it all. Perfect. It’s perfect!
I always love their collections, corset heaven Fantastic fun, tongues in cheeks and all on a good grounding.
So wonderful. And so many of these were PERFECTLY evocative of the inspiration – it’s like a high quality, dream version of a PR challenge. My favorite is the beige dress with the beaded dripping ruby red “blood.”
This is really, really wonderful.
Raincoat= Blade Runner
This is fucking glorious!
AHAHAHAHA! The bloody shower curtain raincoat is divine! This is seriously fun, though I can say with certainty that I would NOT want to have Jack Nicholson’s “Here’s Johnny!” face anywhere near my ladyparts.
I hope that some of these make their way to the RC on Sunday… that’d be awesome. But also doubtful.
Definitely fashion as performance art, and not to be graded on the “Would I want to wear that?” scale.
I love the rope dress where the collar is entirely separate from the bodice. I cannot explain why, except that when I saw it it made me smile (a peculiar reaction for a collection based on horror movies, I admit). It goes into “whimsical” in some strange way.
Some of them, like The Shining and Psycho dresses, are much too literal, but I laughed out loud (in a good way) at the nude dress with the slashes of red glitter. I love The Blonds.
It is so tacky that I love them girls. And isn’t one of the dripping boobs like Ben’s dress in PR?
Oh, holy crap, that was fun! That was really, really cool! I mean, not only are the dresses cool, but that’s just really a good time!
I always look forward to the pics from The Blonds shows. These were fun and quirky as usual.
Conceptually I love this, but not many people could get away with wearing at least half of it. Although I’d take on the knife dress and the fabric of the shower scene dress as a top.
I get some of the references much more than others…but this is really fun and cool. The first and last looks are especially amazing.
And there’s definitely a girl inside me who would totally wear that knife dress.
As someone whose taste in fashion verges on ultra-conservative, I’m utterly appalled to find myself saying…I LOVE this whole collection. A: a sense of humor (love the fur straight jacket), and B: some wearable – if offbeat – and very pretty dresses (#2, 6, and especially 10 and 18).
The last one is Carrie couture and I LOVE IT.
Isn’t the chef’s knife piece from Zarkana?
Drag queens, drag queens everywhere.
I would seriously wear nearly everything here. I would love to see these on the Red Carpet. I wholeheartedly love these pieces. The knife dress, slash dress with blood, that rain coat is TO DIE, and the two “Birds” dresses are fucking fantastic. This is totally my style–if I could afford it.
I would love to see Chloe Moretz wear something from this when she starts doing press for the Carrie remake.
Love, love, love. Of course it’s costumey and silly but it’s all gorgeous. Except for the fur straightjacket which is just a walking eye-roll.
OK, hilarious, but in a good way.
Hell to the NO on the Jack Nicholson dress or the chinchilla jumpsuit. The jumpsuit, because it’s horrifically unflattering, and the Jack Nicholson dress, because there’s a giant screaming face that you can’t look away from.
Dying of love.
It reminds me of the original THIERRY MUGLER…and how amazing his shows were……….
The Butcher Knife dress is the best one, a real artistic statement. The rest are clever but not really fashion, more so costumes or just fun jokes. The Straight Jacket fur coat is outrageously ridiculous.
The nude leather bustier and skirt with the slashed and dripping with red beading is astonishing! What a frightening (yet strangely beautiful) homage to Psycho! Wow.
My comment is just below this, I signed in with my Google account and my name didn’t come up this time, but I guess that doesn’t matter much. I’m Therese btw, and you know I love this site!
I like the man model at the end.
