Jude Law at ‘Side Effects’ Photocall

We wanted to like this for having a sort of Euro-breezy chic thing going on.

Jude Law attends the ‘Side Effects’ Photocall during the 63rd Berlinale International Festival.

But upon further examination, it just looks sloppy and too big. It’s like Charlie Chaplin’s Little Tramp at the Cannes Film Festival. Not working for us at all, Jude.

No! Dark blue with black (especially in this incarnation) is a big no. This looks like he got dressed in the dark, pulling whatever he could find off the floor. The jacket and the trousers aren’t even the same color. I’m not saying he can’t wear separates, but that these aren’t separate enough to not look like a mistake.

    I don’t mind the suit mismatch. The pants have cuffs, so he obviously meant for them to be short. I think the v-neck sweater is what’s throwing everything off. Too non-descript to match. He needed white or one more shade of black maybe for the shirt.

The angle of some of these photographs is really odd and not helping with the outfit. He’s a tall man and the suit doesn’t look fitted and is rumpled. Its a shame because some of the details are lovely, the color of the shirt is great for him and I want to see more of the pocket square, even the suit material would look better if it were ironed and not in that cut.

*sigh* Overall, its a shame as he’s one of my favorite actors to look at and he tends to go either all beautifully suited or scruffy on purpose and both work, this in between doesn’t.

This assortment he’s wearing is almost a style or fashion unto itself. It’s a cross between preppy slacker and hipster.
