      Well, in his after awards interview he did say he needed to have ‘a bit of a lie down’ after all of this so I wouldn’t expect to see him any time soon. As much as that makes me sad, I also kind of think he does it just right. I want more of him and I don’t get sick of seeing him everywhere.

      Yep. Not only is he a great actor, but he’s a very savvy “star” as well. He shows up, flogs the hell out of the movie (for such an allegedly reclusive guy, he’s surprisingly good at the media poledance) so it’s a hit, and then totally drops off the map.     Many, many moons ago I had to break off an engagement. As the final death knells were ringing over the relationship I felt an inexplicable urge to watch two films – Room with a View and Sleepless in Seattle. I HAD to see them so much so that I could taste them (if that makes sense!)
    
    It wasn’t until much later that I realised the connecting factor. In both movies the female protagonist breaks off an engagement and the wounded parties – DDL and Bill Pullman – behave with impeccable grace and dignity. I think I was hoping for the same reaction from my, soon-to-be-ex, fiance!
