Love the nods to Korean culture in this shoot. We’ve got something reminiscent of a hanbok in the first shot, a bride’s headdress in the first and fifth, and kimchi pots throughout. Meanwhile, it’s all high-fashion, cosmopolitan, and gorgeous. Way to rock your heritage.

  I agree; by comparison it seems like some American fashion mags have completely given up. Perhaps American mags are more obsessed with “celebrity” than seeing supermodels in couture on hyperstylized sets? This makes me want to subscribe to Vogue Korea though I wouldn’t be able to read a single word!

I feel better already. I bet it costs a million dollars a month to get a Vogue Korea subscription. The colors are so gorgeous, and amusingly evoke Western “Christmas colors”.

  I know. I look at this and i think “What happened to American Vogue?” I want to burn half their covers..but wouldn’t want to test our fireplace. ps never do automatic annual renewal for Vogue. They charge you twice the amount as when you renew yourself each year.

Vogue Korea is art. It is beautiful and inspiring. So much better than the American version which mostly tries to tell you how to dress and mostly has famous actors instead of models, probably with contracts that limit how far they can stray from their ‘personality/look’. These pictures inspire you to be creative in putting together outfits, in portraying moods. In playing with clothing to have fun and be yourself. Or maybe I just need more coffee…
