that is a lot of beige for a blond white woman to be wearing under flash bulbs.
the details tried to create interest (polka dots, buckle, pleats), sure. but they dont make this outfit seem any less bland to me.
Don’t love this. Do love Paul Rudd.
Girl knows how to accessorize.
Well, they certainly look 40…
Love. Proof that twee and forty are not incompatible.
Love her denim and plaid arm candy, too. Although I like to see him look a bit less messy. What is that sticking out of the top of his jeans?
I think it’s the pocket of his jeans.
But I don’t understand how that could happen?!? I’m perplexed honestly. You pull your pants up; not sure how the pocket liner could be up. But I’m not a red carpet regular, so who knows. :-)
I was thinking it was some sort of tag thing that is sown to the bottom of his shirt. Like on a basketball jersey.
It’s a reminder that he needs to refill his pot stash.
A dollar bill someone shoved into his jeans. At least if I’d been there, that’s what it would have been.
I do love a good brown. I think she looks lovely. I covet those shoes oh so much…
The fit is off – particularly on the top. Even if it weren’t, it’s too twee for her.
She’s the most stylish teacher at the PTA Meeting tonight!
It looks like she’s wearing a skirt made out of the flayed skin of countless interns. i.e.-that is not her color.
I like it. I don’t know why because there are a whole lot of elements I hate, but the overall effect is good and I like the skirt. Would have liked better hair for her.
I love that skirt but I’m having problems getting past the stripes on the shirt, which to me look like weird suspenders. It’s a visual trick of the eye, but I’m can’t get past how it brings down the overall look.
Yup. Suspenders. My first thought too.
Yeah, I definitely thought it was suspenders. For that, I don’t like this look. I think I might like the pieces individually though, especially the skirt.
Again I must translate the film: In German it comes off as ‘always anger at 40′ I am angry her stylist, husband, whoever would make her go out like that! She is a lovely woman, but is she a kindergarten teacher – or student? ( And no offense to the teachers out there: I am one also. I mean “schoolmarmish”)
Wouldn’t it be more like “Always trouble with 40″? At the risk of sounding pedantic, of course. All right, all right, definitely sounding pedantic.
Actually it has a double meaning: “Always trouble with 40″ and “Getting worse with 40″.
I like the top, but I don’t think the color works with the skirt. Maybe it’s how it comes across on a computer monitor and the colors were perfect IRL, but at my house it looks pretty bad. The skirt doesn’t fit, either. I like the shoes.
Not terrible, but would have been better with a skirt more like the one on the model.
Bradley Cooper finally shaves and washes his hair, only to have Paul Rudd stop. Is there some sort of rationing in effect in Hollywood for razors and shampoo?
Oh and Leslie Mann: Shrug. Kind of looks like a modern spin on “Heidi.”
I’m sorry you’re the last person to find out about this, but they’re actually starting an indie band named Grizzly Man.
Rudd’s lumberjack shirt kinda gives it away.
maybe they are sharing and it was Bradley’s turn.
Given Hollywood, the likelihood of someone having a custody arrangement for personal grooming products actually would not surprise me.
I like the elements separately, but not together.
I like the separate pieces of her outfit, just not all together, and not with her coloring. That hairstyle isn’t helping, either. This is more “average day at the office” than “movie photo call”.
Two great things that don’t work together…her and that dress!
Are they sure this is Marni?
Dear God – burn that outfit. If you can’t match the color on two pieces intended to be worn together (the peach and pink) THEN USE A DIFFERENT COLOR. The almost match looks like a dye lot gone bad and it makes my eyes burn.
It’s a nice try at being different but I don’t think it comes off. Of course, I don’t love the colors and my personal tastes would pair a crisper top with that skirt, as well as give her some stockings/pantyhose to wear – I think the relatively traditional cut of the skirt and the color contrast between the shoes and her skin makes the no-hosiery look just look unfinished.
But that’s more of a pile of personal preferences rather than any kind of analytical judgement.
I think she looks pretty good. Marni is hard to pull off. Her her doesn’t go for me, it’s too overstated to go with the ensemble.
Paul Rudd’s pocket situation begs the question…
Once again, of a male/female pairing on a red carpet, she looks properly dressed and he looks like a bum.
I thought I knew what “resort” meant but now I’m lost.
I always thought resort = caftans, but more and more it just seems to be a way for designers to release a collection that’s season-inappropriate.
I’m sorry (because he does have a cute smile), but if she’s going to put in some effort, even if slightly misguided, then he should as well. It looks like the real Paul was a no-show, so they grabbed a cute guy from the construction site next door, and an agent threw the substitute Paul a blazer.
Paul looks his usual scraggly self. Leslie looks likes she answers phones at the bank.
Leslie’s outfit just doesn’t look put together. That’s what you wear when you’re really late to work & can’t find anything else that matches.
First question – is the original Marni model a man? Second question – if it is a daytime occasion, why not allow Mr. Rudd to wear jeans and Ms. Mann to wear her School Marm outfit? I think they are dressed down, but not inappropriate. It would be strange if she were dressed to the nines, and he was sporting this look, but she’s obviously considered the event, her costar and the likelihood that they would be photographed together. I think it’s fine.
If you google her name you will see that this is apparently just an incredibly unfortunate hair style.
Paul Rudd is so adorable! didn’t notice anyone else with him…
The top half and bottom half of this outfit don’t go together
Hair and makeup look fantastic.
Outfit is pretty decent.
Not loving the shoes with the rest of the look.
I like the shoes okay, but they look terrible on her feet.
That is fancy Baskin Robbins uniform!
I think this is the cutest she’s looked in a long time…and I would cut a bitch for those shoes. He looks like he should’ve been dropping her off at this event and then continuing on to the frat party down the street.
Is the skirt was a pencil skirt, if she had taken off the belt and if she had ditch the shoes for a simple pair of black pumps, this could have worked for me.
Why didn’t she stick the original color palette? This top and skirt don’t go together at all. Hair and makeup look nice but the outfit is a miss.
Bad outfit. Good arm candy.
So the lumberjack/farmhand married the university professor? Is that his pocket lining sticking up or a note from her to show his parents? I’m confused. And I hate this grungy shoe trend the guys have going on. She looks really pretty but I think I’d lose the belt (or move it to the waistline) and swap out the shoes.
The model is very Selma Blair in Cruel Intentions.
She looks like the luggage fairy.
Love the top, but could do without the skirt that is too much of an almost match that it’s distracting.
She should have worn the jacket.
I thought she was wearing suspenders when I first saw this. Then i looked closer and just realized it was ugly with a touch of Western (but not the good kind of Western).
The skirt is very 2001. I feel like I had the mini skirt version of this, same colour, buckle and pleats but I was 14.
Despite the cocker spaniel hair (and the fact that they match her hair), I’m digging the look.
That top and skirt just don’t go together. She’s being awfully nice to that homeless man.
Just… hideous. At the very least, it calls for a smooth, shorter hairstyle, not twirly curls. An awkward look.
Love the dark coat on the model.
I really like the skirt, but I don’t care for the rest.
I wish he’d cut that hair, but I’ll still take a plateful of Paul.
Don’t care for her outfit much, but I LURV him and have since Clueless.
Love the skirt and the shoes. The top looks like it probably has moisture wicking action.
I like Marni a lot, including this outfit. And I love Paul Rudd, but this look has got to go.
I like all of the pieces individually, especially the shoes, but I don’t think they “go” together.
Love the top, but the color of that skirt is not her friend.
The shoes, in color and design, are not the best choice for this look. Also, publicists, please coordinate styling efforts for stars who will appear together on the RC. I’m not asking for matching outfits, but there’s such a wide division between the extreme casual look sported by Paul Rudd and Leslie’s more refined look, it defeats the purpose of “fashion” on the RC.
I love the skirt and the top, but not together.
RUDD! Cut your hair!
he is totally working a dad look here.
i cant help it. i love this. There are things about it I could criticize, But for some reasons it still makes me oooozy.
She looks like an ice cream parlor.
Best. Description. Ever. You put my feelings into words! I kind of like the shoes, but that’s about it.
Her head looks great. Her shoes are killer. I am not at all sure about the rest.
I want the shoes
Love the skirt but not the top she chose for it, or the shoes either. I would love the skirt but it’s dusty pink shade would be hard to
pair with anything but white. He looks abit too casual next to her, especially with whatever sticking out of the waist of his jeans.
Oooh girl, pale blondes should stay away from blush and beige. Cardinal sin. Go back to jewel tones.
I want to set that whole outfit on fire.
I have the biggest girl crush on Leslie Mann. Love those shoes too…
I honestly don’t understand what her outfit is trying to communicate. I see “cute office worker on lunch break,” not “comedic actress promoting film.” I think she was going for something creative and cool but although the top started to get me there, the skirt railroaded the effort.
Has she had some work done on her face? She looks… Different.
Why is Rudd so THIN?
Everyone’s hair looks the same these days. I do like her outfit, though.
