Heidi Klum in Beverly Hills

Moms, don’t you find that it’s hard to come up with the appropriate outfit for those times when you take your boyfriend, who used to be your bodyguard, and your kids shopping at a Barney’s in Beverly Hills? Despite these horrifying difficulties and obstacles in her path, the Heidster did a pretty awesome job with the Mommy-chicness.

How fabulously put-together. Love the shoes and the skinny pants, which, as all Moms know, is THE go-to item when your taking your kids and bodyguard-boyfriend to Barney’s in Beverly Hills.

The girls look adorable, but blondie definitely wants to be mommy when she grows up, right down to the scarf and the shades.

  I’m not a fan of Carolyn Murphy either, but she gets a pass simply because she’s the only host/mentor/fashion editor/model in Project Runway history (another first) who correctly pronounces Marie Claire.

That’s always how *I* dress. And I’m also always sure to coordinate my kids’ outfits with my own. But her heels seem a little short.

  I am fascinated how they can put on a fully accessorized ensemble, NO makeup, bad hair, and shades, and look good. I think strangers would stop me in the grocery (no Barneys here) and say “Bless your heart, 3boysful, you’ve forgotten something . . . .”

The Barneys here in LA is a total clusterfuck of celebs so I’m sure she knew the paps were camped outside and dressed appropriately. That said, she needs to get the BF up to speed. Jesse James is not a good role model for him.

I was shopping at the Target and I saw the most amazingly beautiful woman..it was a surreal moment where I rounded the corner and I found myself in front of this woman and then my eyes slowly traveled up her body and then I just stared at her face. Then I realized, “oh my god that is Heidi Klum!” I was dumb founded. That was the same day these pictures were taken! Then I thought to myself “Tom and Lorenzo would love this outfit!”

Do you suppose the body guard/boyfriend now has a body guard? If so, I wonder if he’s watching the guy like a hawk. Outfit is cute – can’t imagine lugging a kid around in those heels, but I guess that’s what super models do. And…if that schlumpy guy in the plaid is who she dumped Seal for…well, I hope he makes up for it in “other ways”.

Something about this look struck me as creepy and I couldn’t figure out why until I realized just how much the two girls are coordinated with their mother. Girl on the left (my left) is wearing a blue and yellow animal print that echoes Heidi’s scarf and other colors. Girl on the right is wearing a black and white version of Heidi’s outfit. Seems a little too matchy to me – is Mommy coordinating her kids to make her family look like a collection?

I’m impressed by her strength. The girl on her hip is not a tiny toddler; she looks at least three or four years old. Quite the challenge to be balancing her, walking, and holding onto the other girl’s hand. Down stairs. In 5″ stilettos. The skills of a runway model are eminently transferable to momhood.

As a mom, I can’t fathom wearing 5 inch heels when i know I’ll likely be carrying my baby (too much risk of accidentally tripping and dropping him!)
