  I completely agree. I actually love the dandelion print, but the bib and especially the mini-Peter Pan collar are not good. In other news, the hair and makeup are pretty, but look like they belong with another dress.

I’m with you on the dead flower vibe. I thought of mold, actually, but similar “ick” reaction. The combination of the drab print and the sister-wife cut is just no. On top of that, her makeup looks like it goes with black leather or something with an aggressive edge. Bit of a mismatch.

I think in this case changing the runway look was a mistake – inexplicably the sleeves are lined now, which makes the pink collar totally weird, where it was only partially weird in the runway look. And, strangely, the sleeves are too tight on her. Not flattering at all. Also – the bib? NO.

The prairie dress combined with the Sister Wives hair is tipping this look way too far into Wealthy Polygamist Wife territory. Like she’s the First Wife and got to attend the event with her patriarch husband, while the lesser wives had to stay home and take care of the kids.

It took me a minute, because there are parts that I like, but as a whole it’s just not working. Busy print, aggressively busy bust area, needless satin and too much bronzer overpower a floaty, romantic idea of a dress.

I actually love the dress itself, but it a) doesn’t go with her current coloring (too much tan; also if a brunette is attempting it, the shade of brown should be deeper, or even black) and b) clashes with the rest of the styling. They tried to bump it up into chic with evening jewelry, heavy make up and superhigh hair, but that’s just not the way this dress works.
I would suggest a messier, soft JBFish up do(just make sure it’s still looking brushed and shiny); lay off the bronzer; matte charcoal eyeshadow to softly accentuate the eyes (it looks a bit too severe right now) and fresh pink/peachy lip to lighten up the look, and probably ditch the white belt for a skinny one in turquoise or light blue. Then again, that would make it definitely not a gala look, but what will you do?
Oh, and that hairdo is aging her like nobody’s business.

Not crazy about the bib, but I love the print and and sleeves. Overall I think the dress is quite graceful. I do object to the Gibson Girl hair, which takes it to ‘costume’… and the Aguilera makeup, which takes it to, well, bleccch.

Took me a bit of time and several looks back…but I really like this. I love the textile (I hear Tim Gunn in my brain every time I use/hear that word) and I like the styling choices. Dandelions…guess botanicals are having a moment, and it’s fine by me.
