It’s kind of refreshing to see Miss Katy ditch the spackle and the shine and go out looking like a candle-shop owner in Taos:

No criticisms here. She looks comfy and cute.

Okay, we lied. One criticism: the purse kind of clashes. But we’ll let that go if you give us a deal on the mulberry-scented pillars.

  This is the second or third instance I’ve seen of someone wearing lace up shoes/boots sans laces. I don’t get it.

    This was a fad in the 80′s as well. I took it a step further and refused to lace my roller skates, and rolled about with the tongues flapping. This ended up in a spectacular crash resulting in two shattered fingers on my left hand. Lesson: when your mother says “what did you do with your laces?” you say “I’m putting them in now, because I don’t want to look like a damn idiot.”

I think she looks ridiculous. If she were my friend, I’d send her back to her dressing room to change. The sweater/jacket is terrible. The boots are ugly. The had is absurd. If she wants to wear that dress, I’d say belt it, wear a long cardigan down past the hips, sport flat shoes, and put on a long silver necklace.

maybe Miss Katy is letting some of her alters out… If that’s what she’s doing, I love it. If this is just comfy, she can do better… (and I want the story behind the rose, I see a fan rushing up to give it to her and she sweetly not wanting to dump it in front of him, ties it to her bag. Or, in her alter universe, the flower is to ward off bad vibes and encourage the flowering of her new scented candles line which is not going as well as she would have hoped.)

anyway, fashion: love the dress and the bag, but the cardigan and the hat take it into frumpy territory. no strong opinion on the shoes.

I’m going to cut her all kinds of slack for this outfit — including the lack of laces in her boots — because she’s clearly about to fly somewhere, and she’s managed to find a way to wear something completely non-restrictive that is also OK to look at. Now, if she’s planning to hand out religious literature at the airport, or she’s launching her new perfume line at the duty-free shop, then in that case she’s seriously under-dressed and I’m going to be all kinds of judgy.

Man, for someone who dyes her hair all the colors of the rainbow, her hair looks amazing. Kudos. Unless that’s a wig, in which case kudos to her wig guy.
Is the rose part of the purse or just… stuck in there? I originally thought the latter, but why would you bring a flower in your purse for flying?
I don’t like long cardigans generally for this exact frumpy reason. There are people who make them work, but I am not one of them.

Why would anyone wear a floppy hat on a plane trip? — unless her hair is dirty, which hers isn’t. It’s not the most chic ensemble, but I agree that she looks cute, comfy, and perfectly acceptable for travel. Except for the hat.

This makes me like her a little more (I already like her – not a lot, but really, a good deal more than I ever thought I would when that annoying “I kissed a girl” song was dominating a moment of tween/young teen pop culture). Just so long as it doesn’t become habitual. I have started to count on her attire to make me smile.

She looks ridic – which is saying something considering her on stage outfits. Sorry to disagree TLo – but the ends of the purse and the straps match her top…and the sides match that rose – so it doesn’t clash. LOL!
