Darlings, here’s your pretty of the day: Jude Law, working that scruffy, artsy, sexy Vincent Van Gogh look like so few men actually can. If Vincent sported 1300 dollar sweaters, that is.

He’s aces in my book. Just saw Anna Karenina. Loved it but beware it’s Tolstoy Lite. JL was excellent but he looks ever so much more sexy in these pics.

    Did you ever read stuff about making The Road to Perdition? I can’t remember if it was the director or producer or what, but they talked about how hard it was to ugly up Jude Law — they “tried to hit him with the ugly stick” as hard as they could, but it was very difficult.

  Trivia: The photographer of these pictures (Sam Taylor Johnson) is married to his Anna Karenina co-star Aaron Taylor Johnson. He’s the 22 year old who plays Vronsky. She is the 45 year old who directed him in Nowhere Boy when he was 19. They have two kids. The whole thing is mind-bogglingly wild.

    I remember when it first happened. Tongues didn’t merely wag, they fell out of people’s mouths! I love it. Just saw them in Vogue recently & they look great together. No 1 bats in eye when Catherine Zeta Jones marries Michael Douglas. Nice to see examples of women continuing to establish a position of power in this culture where they’re free to be w/ whomever they want regardless of age, race, gender, etc.

      I’m with you to a certain extent, but as Jennifer says, when one party is a teenager (male or female), it could be considered fairly skeevy. Put it this way – rich, gorgeous, creative types get a spread in Vogue; ordinary folks from the Midwest get called pervy cougars. But hey, good luck to them.

Never do the upclose face shots in b&w, people – you need to see his blue eyes!!

I have thought he was hot ever since “Music from Another Room”, but man, I have really gained a lot of respect for him through his recent roles (crazy opportunist in “Contagion”, Dr. Watson). Can’t wait to see him in AK.

This has me giggling. In some shots, he looks downright dour, and in others, goofy. The goofy shots (third and last) are fun, and I like the cover, but I don’t love the others.

Although if I saw that last picture alone, I would think it was a picture of Gerard Butler. Maybe it’s the beard.

  The goofy shots are winning me over, and I am kind of meh about Law to start with. Love the one where he’s apparently trying to click his heels together in the air, but comes across as his bid for the Presidency of the Ministry of Silly Walks.

Aging well, I would say. Very pretty, almost too pretty as a young man, he’s still quite good looking now. One of the color shots should have shown those incredible blue eyes, I missed seeing them.

    Jude Law is certainly on that list for me. I only ever saw one movie that had him in it (Contagion) and I was not impressed. He did a fine job acting in it, but that movie as a whole? Blech. Still, he causes little hearts to float and pop above my head.
