Granted, we’re not attracted to women, so the point of all of this is lost on us, but that never stopped us from offering an opinion before. This year, the brand took the bold move of choosing the theme of … HOOKERS!

    The funny thing is I didn’t see anything that I found remotely sexy. And actually a lot of it doesn’t look like underwear at all? No, woman in sexy underwear aren’t automatically hookers.   I was also a bit put off by the hooker joke to be honest. I know you guy’s don’t really mean anything by it, but it’s just such a negative term and women are too often shamed for being sexy, while at the same time being expected to be just that.I’m not frothing in feminist rage or anything, but the joke fell flat for me.

  I think it appeals because it’s actually *there*. Buying lingerie online is a pain in the ass, considering fit issues, so at least for me in suburban midwest USA, it’s Victoria’s Secret or department stores. And the department stores in my area always look like a bomb went off in it, rarely have a decent selection, and are staffed by fusty old ladies who give you the side eye when you want something other than boring nude/white/black solid.

    I stopped going when they dropped my cup size from their range. Narrowing in on a C-cup from both ends! The only bust size women are allowed to have. I have also warned my niece off their “fitting” technique of suggesting a larger band size if you don’t fit into their range of cup sizes.

      Your boobs deserve better! I taught a student-run Mad Men course at school and one lecture was about modern advertising. Victoria’s Secret was my primary focus. It was incredibly sad how many of the girls in the class discussed the self-esteem issues that surface whenever they encounter anything from that brand. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for a company that should cater to women.

Several years ago they seemed to actually sell some of these things in the store. I presume they no longer sell these “looks” and it’s purely for the show now? I mean, you can’t literally buy the shamrock bra right? VS has the worst quality “lingerie” ever. Expensive, but it looks and feels cheap as hell.

  The Victoria’s Secret Brand has changed drastically in the last decade and the fashion show has changed along with it. For one, the models used to be older. Many of the most famous VS models even 7-8 years ago were over the age of 30. Yes, they used to model actual lingerie that you could purchase. And I don’t want to get into a touchy discussion about weight, but the women also used to have more diverse body types. I just have no interest in the store anymore.

I will say this for Icky Vicky, when the National Guard came calling on them for help during Sandy, VS loaned out generators, forklifts and other supplies. So, I don’t like their products or their stores but I guess I like the company.

These outfits are often so bad; all I do is wonder the entire show; who ‘creates’ these, who’s idea are they anyway ?
They are so rarely attractive, they actually make the models look very dumb, very clownish.
I’m sure the group thats is putting these together is having many a LOL moment backstage – but the spectacle that walks the RW is
not a particularly sexy or flattering image. I can’t see the gain for the models or the underwear company either.
