        When *I* call someone “striking” it means they’re not standard issue catalog pretty, but that I really, really like the way they look. That my eyes keep returning to them, and it’s darn sure not in horror.

I was about to go all crazy and say, “That is NOT Venice. Cars are not allowed in Venice. And that is NOT an Italian restaurant name.” And then I remembered there was another, lesser Venice, in California–which is where I assume the young man was photographed.

Composure recovered, I can now comment on his look, which is pretty hip. I especially like the hat. Maybe he should be cast as Frank if they ever make a serious Sinatra biopic.

Wearing a stingy brim hat on the back of your head like that always signifies that A) you don’t have the right sized hat, B) you don’t know how that hat is supposed to be worn, and C) you’re just a tad douchey. But aside from that, he looks good. I love that quilted shirt-jacket, and living in SoCal, would wear the heck out of it as an alternative to a coat (which we pretty much never need). He gets extra points for actually looking for oncoming traffic before crossing the street, which is something people around here rarely do.

I do not like those pants…when I see guys rocking what appears to be a jeggins equivalent it just makes me think of the bassist from Fall Out Boy.

And maybe it’s just me, but I like it when guys thighs actually touch. I prefer a guy with some thigh girth…like if he was in cords and started running he’d be at risk of starting a fire.

  no one? They are fantastically similar to Clarke’s desert boots. AKA the comfiest and most versatile shoes ever. Smart enough for nice trousers, casual enough for jeans. Cute enough for girls with shorts (or dresses, or jeans) manly enough for men (they were made for the desert!) and kickass for anybody in-between. OK, so the sole is a little different but for the price of the desert boots and how long they last a very real no-cut-necessary option

It is a great look…on him. Really though, any guy could wear that quilted shirt and those shoes. It’s just the skinny pants that most guys can’t wear…switch to to a black denim that fit and ditch the hipster fedora.
