Let’s have ourselves a sampling of Brit boys to get us over the hump this morning, shall we?

Tom has been jonesing for a good tweedy suit to wear for February’s Fashion Week. This isn’t quite what he had in mind for himself, but it’s a great-looking suit nonetheless. And kudos to Eddie, who doesn’t look a mess for once. We wonder if that jacket isn’t too tight for him, but it’s hard to tell with it unbuttoned. Also: don’t flip up your jacket lapel like that, son. It looks stupid.

Goddamnit, Idris. We were all ready for a good pants-moving moment at the sight of you and then you had to go and ruin things by failing to have your own pants hemmed properly. A delicious man is supposed to be in a deliciously tailored suit. Didn’t anyone tell you that? Well now you know.

Luke Evans

It’s … just okay. The tie’s unimaginative, the shoes don’t really go with the look, and we don’t like the cut of the jacket. We realize this will not stop many a fanboy and girl from swooning, but we have to maintain our lofty standards here. Sniff.

    He’d be amazing, obviously, but I’ve heard him interviewed on the subject and what I got was that he’d love to be “James Bond” but doesn’t want to be “Black James Bond”. Totally understandable. Unfortunately, since we are definitely *not* in a “post-racial” world, “Black James Bond” is definitely how he would be constantly described so I don’t think I’ll bet on him taking the role.

You know I never would have noticed fabric puddling around Idris Elba’s ankles if you hadn’t pointed them out. That’s the last thing on him that I was interested in looking at.

Eddie has nice clothes, but what is happening with the hair?
Idris looks great from the waist up, but the pants really need a hem.
Luke just looks off, the suit is ill fitting, the shirt is all wrong for the suit and as much as I dislike overly groomed men, those brows need some tending.

Can’t anyone button the bottom button of a jacket anymore? I know people want to exude a more casual attitude, but damn. If you’re going to wear a suit, wear it properly. Or just put on some sweatpants and a t-shirt, and stay at home. I will give props to the tweed suit, but who the hell pops a collar on such a nicely-tailored item? There’s some man pretty on this page, but the inattention to details, it bugs.

    I stand corrected. But depending on where the second button hits, and how the jacket is fitted on the chest, I’m seeing more shirt/belt buckle/trouser band, lately. Guess it takes a properly-fitted jacket to pull it off.

@decormaven…It is correct to not button lower button on a two button suit. Problem with most of these suit styles is that the shrunk the fit like little boy suits!

Eddie may have decent clothes on, but he still looks like a crazy vagabond. Plus, I don’t like that particular tweed on him. This is going to sound weird, but it’s like pattern overload when you pair it with his freckles.

The fit of the suits on the last two men reminds me of the fit of the suits on Daniel Craig. Is this the British style we are seeing or do these two and Craig need to wear suit jackets one size larger?

I have no idea who these people are but #1 has atrocious hair and #3 is boring. I will take a plentiful helping of #2, and if his pants are to long he will just have to take them off.

I’m five episodes into Luther (reached the end of Season 3 of The Wire a week or so ago and needed my Idris fix!). Oh. My. Word. Astonishing! There have frequently been times, watching Luther,that I’ve wanted to switch it off because it’s too traumatic but I cant’ stop watching!

So, I forgive Mr Elba his trouser length. I forgive him anything.

I’m actually quite concerned about when Thor 2 is released next year, offering Mr Elba, Chris Hemsworth and Zachary Levi on the big screen… if Chris Evans cameos as Cap then I may never leave the cinema.

  Luther gave me life. It was simply riveting. Idris on screen DEFINITELY helped. Even here with a wonky pants hem the man is just delicious. Swoooooooooon. That is all.

I thought Luke Evans outfit was boring at first, but then upon closet inspection, I think I really like it. The jacket collar fabric and cut is nice…different. Looks kind of like a cross between a tuxedo and a smoking jacket. The sleeves are a tad long, but the jacket seems to fit well, and the slim cut trousers fit him well too. The tie has some nice texture to it. I’ve a feeling this looks much better in person.
