Darlings, this post goes out to all the kittens who look at magazine covers and red carpet appearances and sigh wistfully that they will never look as perfectly beautiful as those strange, genetically gifted creatures known as celebrities.
Because you should never forget, darlings:
Evan Rachel Wood and new husband Jamie Bell make a quick trip to a store in Los Angeles.
It’s all an illusion.
Which isn’t to say that Evan Rachel – and new hubs Jamie Bell, rocking the skinny jeans – don’t look cute here; just that you should never lose sight of the fact that the images you see of red carpets and magazine spreads are highly calculated and put together by a team of designers, stylists, publicists and photographers. This is at least partially why we like the “On the Street” posts. Sure, they’re often as calculated as a Vogue cover, but it does allow you to see behind the curtain a little. When she’s on the red carpet, she’s a glorious picture of perfection; but when she’s not done up by makeup artists and given ten-thousand-dollar gowns to wear, she’s just a pretty girl in a pair of jeans, no different from dozens of other girls you’d see every day.
