Yeehaw, bitches! It was the 46th annual CMA Awards in Nashville, Tennessee and the ladyfolk got themselves all gussied up! Hit it, ladyfolk!

Carrie Underwood in Reem Acra

It’s … okay. Actually, it’s kind of pretty (although that bodice is way overworked), but we’re disappointed to see her in another neutral with gold accents.

Hayden Panettiere in Georges Chakra Couture

It’s also just okay. We like the pale green color, but we don’t like the darker green accessories paired with it. She could’ve used a dress with a more defined waist. The shape of this thing is not her best friend.

Kellie Pickler in Pamella Roland

The color’s beautiful on her. It’s a bit tight in the bust and we’re not super-crazy about the shape of the skirt, but it all works for her. We think she should’ve gone a little heavier on the makeup, though. She looks too pale and colorless. We’d have stuck some sapphires on those ear lobes to help frame the face.

Lucy Hale in Moschino

This is kind of mature-looking, but it’s so head-turning and she looks so polished in it that we don’t really mind.

Miranda Lambert in Maria Lucia Hohan

Oh, gurl. That is SO not your dress.

It’s like someone dared her to find the least flattering bustline possible for her figure. And the color, of course, does absolutely nothing for her.

Taylor Swift in Jenny Packham

Credit where it’s due: we can’t stand her, but she looks gorgeous here.

  I don’t think that we can start handing out of courses just because someone has a distinctive style. She looks really nice. And I think she does well with picking dresses that are each interesting and different even though they fit her specific taste.
  
  An “of course” should be limited to people who have a specific taste(less-ness) of constant fail; ie. Lea Michelle, Kat Graham.

It was unusually classy on the RC last night. Not nearly enough Tennessee Tacky for my loving tastes. Though most of the men looked like college frat douches in their jeans and baseball caps. They are pointless to recap unless you want to compare who spent the most time trying to look they didn’t spend any time or thought getting ready. The hair product and accessories always tell the truth though, amiright?

Ok, I think Taylor looks stunning. If she is going to stick to the sweet ladylike ensembles that she tends to favor, this is the way to go. It’s romantic but has some design interest, plus the low cut of bodice is just modest enough to maintain her good-girl persona. I’m surprised to say this, but she’s the best dressed girl of this bunch.

Carrie Underwood looks 60 years old and her foundation is at least 3.5 shades lighter than her actual skin. And Miranda looks exactly how my Barbie doll looked when I would shove her head down on her neck. That gown makes her look like she has barely any neck at all and gives her linebacker shoulders.

    The color is definitely weird. It almost appears to have a lavender-ish hue or something to me. Between the hair and her skintone, she always appears as one monochromatic column of skin color to me…with red lips of course.

Miss Underwood’s dress looks like something appropriate for a beauty pageant contestant and the make-up does look a bit heavy and aging.

Ms. Panetierre’s dress I kind of like. She is young. The dress is sassy and fun if a bit short in back. I like the shoes but not the matching purse to go with it.

Ms. Pickler looks washed out. Short hair and a pale dress call for a little more drama on the face. The dress is fine if a bit predictable and therefore boring.

Ms. Hale looks a bit matronly in her dress but the bright lips give the look a bit of oomph which is much needed.

I do not object to the color of Ms. Lambert’s dress although both the style and the fit are questionable. Her shoulders are a bit too broad for this look and the fit of the bodice is odd. I am not sure if I am seeing part of the understructure right at the waistline and it looks perilously low around the bust.

Ms. Taylor’s dress is very pretty. Then again she has a model’s body and that is a tremendous advantage. I think her make-up is a bit caked on and she looks ten years older than what she is. The bangs are also a bit long for my taste.

Dear ones, I am coming late to the Taylor Swift Bash. I so want to enter into all your feelings but please enlighten me — why should I dislike her? I mean aside from the revolving door of boyfriends and the breakup songs and the AutoTuning and all, she actually does write some good songs (even if she doesn’t sing them so well) and she looks great in clothes. So is there some other reason why this 67 year old should not enjoy the occasional viewing of “Mean?”

  People are sick of her overly sweet schtick and some of the other things you mention. I don’t mind her though. I like that she writes songs (with a partner, it must be noted) and hasn’t slutted it up in an attempt to distance herself from her success as a teen performer.

  I personally don’t understand why she’s not understood to be the Mean Girl she is — she’s extraordinarly nasty toward especially women/girls/competitors in her songs. I also am no fan of how she uses the fame/name of anyone she can to ladder-climb (it’s a tactic really very much akin to how Ann Coulter used to continually grab headlines by picking someone famous, anyone, and deciding to drop their name or otherwise piggyback some argument of hers on their fame). And then there’s the fact that it’s all about living for the boy and fairy tale white knight fantasies, according to Taylor, which personally revolts me to such a degree that I can’t think rationally about her, I don’t even understand how such a post-post-feminist personality can exist in this day and age.

I’d rather have my daughter focus her tween celebrity obsession on Ms. Swift than on Katie Perry. She looks beautiful and this dress even looked beautiful sitting down. It’s young and chic – I love it. I might hate her music but at least she’s got the style thing down.

I love Hayden’s dress and emerald accessories. This is where I get really confused. There must be very few outfits that can be rocked with this lovely shade of deep green. I think it’s a perfect choice. Anything else would be ho-hum.

Miranda Lambert repeatedly goes to that hairstyle and it is NOT her hairstyle. She already has a forehead that takes up most of her face, then adding a crazy amount on volume on top means that all her facial features look scrunched down.

About Carrie’s; I think the deep plunge in the front should have tapered alot more so she doesn’t look like a rectangle.
Hayden looks like she’s wearing a tall girl’s tunic-top; it doesn’t ft her that well, and the hair style is way off. Sorry.
I felt like both Kellie Pickler and Miranda Lambert have dresses that need heavy hoisting up – they both look good but the dresses are
too small and too low. Taylor and Lucy look pretty spectacular.
