  I do want to try for Wendy tixs and tixs to the Chew. I’ve been to a few live tapings. It’s fun, but makes for a long tiring day. Mostly because you have to cue up to get in even with tickets.

  I went to a taping of Wendy Williams earlier this year. It was a lot of fun. She is very funny and is nice to the audience… worth a trip if you are in NYC.

While I bow down to Dita in general, I agree that there is a mild fit issue with the skirt–it looks like it is pooching a bit just below the bottom of the jacket.

The gathering or pulling at the hips may be a product of the extremely narrow skirt. In the third photograph where she is autographing a photo, the skirt is not pulling and she is clearly standing still. The other photos appear to have caught her in motion – hence the pulling. However, I think she still looks amazing. The gloves add a degree of glamour, femininity and power that only she can pull off.

The shoes look too big, but I heard somewhere that a lot of times the woman’s foot will get sweaty and slide forward in the shoe, thus leaving that gap there. That’s also why you’ll sometimes see toes protruding over the front of an open-toed heel on the red carpet.

  And that’s why you get those shoe inserts which are supposed to pad the ball of the foot but really just keep your foot from sliding forward. She can’t help but slide in those – look how high her foot is arched.

I’m assuming those are separates? I would actually wear this outfit to work, minus the gloves and glasses. And probably with some shorter heels. Everything she wears is endowed with such fierceness, even when it’s something that could be construed as office-appropriate.

Maybe some of the BKs can offer some information on this because I am unsure myself, but do certain shoes require you to choose between toe cleavage and too much room for the heel? Dita has a lot of room back there–but if she went a size smaller, I wonder if she would have that her toe-cracks showing.

I think toe cleavage really depends on the cut/style of shoe. personally I have never minded toe cleavage, but I cannot deal with shoes gaping in the back.

That I give a pass on. Menopause means I wear short sleeves pretty much year round. I have been known to make a quick run to the store in a short sleeved sweater, hat & gloves.

I don’t understand how she walks in those shoes. I have some shoes like that and even though they fit, they still slide off my heels, making it really precarious to walk. I worry about looking like someone who’s walking with a full diaper.

It’s too easy to nitpick perfection, so I won’t. I just appreciate that someone gets it so right so often.
If there’s anyone I’ve ever wished I could look like (without sounding petty or jealous) it would be DvT…just to have her ability to wear clothes RIGHT. You know it takes effort to look so good but you never see her break a sweat over it.

And there’ve been many times I’ve wished I had that wiggle room in my shoes when the swelling sets in and the toes are crammed to the front.

If the shoes fit properly, you do not slip down into the toe area. The shoes she’s wearing look to be a size too big.

  I’m seriously envy anyone with properly proportioned feet! I have wide feet, and very few shoes fit (though if I was the sort of person who liked to wear nothing but clogs and sneakers I might be okay). I suspect some of the celebs we see don’t have feet that fit easily into whatever they need to wear to go with a particular outfit, especially if they’re borrowing shoes – they’re going to have to take the ones they can get on their feet and stand up and walk in. It’s very possible this shoe on Dita would be too small one size (or even a half size) down. Have pity on those of us who don’t fit standard shoe sizes!

    I understand completely about varying shoe sizes. I happen to have a very narrow foot, and no arch to speak of, so I often have trouble finding shoes that fit, and I know how hard it is to walk in heels that don’t fit properly in the heel area, as the ones Dita is wearing. You have to grip with your toes to keep the shoe from falling off your foot as you are walking. I have been known to go down a size because of my narrow heel, but never up. It’s just too hard to walk when you’re trying to keep your shoes on.

I’m strictly a flats wearer, but years ago, I bought a pair of one-of-a kind shoes a half-size too small—or so I thought—thinking I’d have a local shoemaker stretch them for me. Turns out they were the right size, and it totally explained why I had calluses on the backs of my heels from sliding in and out of my shoes—not to mention how often I tripped because i had walked right out of my shoes. I’ve managed to soften and get rid of the callus tissue and continue to wear the smaller size without further consequence.

Except that the smaller size is harder to find as I have pygmy feet.

If you have wide feet, you may not fit into the appropriate length. So you either try on 18,000 pairs of shoes and hope you’re lucky enough to find a pair that meets your style needs and fits properly, or you settle for something that’s wide enough but a little too long.

She makes me bristle a bit because I feel she’s another whose fame is somehow artificially manufactured by some publicist, but based on no substantive talent–she peaked at 15 as a ballet dancer and so made a career taking her clothes off and wearing extremely uncomfortable things like corsettes. Yay. Having said that, she was born to wear this look. Shame about the shoes, though.

I like everything but the bow. She’s really a pro with her outfits, isn’t she? I can forgive/ignore the shoes. This is her perfected style, so the fact it’s bordering on a costume is mute to me.
