Timberlake and Biel for People Magazine

We think we’ve more than made the point that celebrity life is just plain weird, but nothing illustrates that more effectively than a big ol’ celeb wedding. Especially when it comes complete with attention-seeking covers of major magazines.

People paid the quarter-million-plus for the rights to them, so they have the pictures and inside scoop on Justin Timberlake’s and Jessica Biel’s wedding. It sounds a little nauseatingly self-absorbed. Then again, we’re reading all of this in People magazine:

“When the couple of five years exchanged personal vows in a romantic Italian ceremony Oct. 19, ‘it was a really special evening,’ Timberlake, 31. ‘It was a total fantasy experience,’ adds Biel, 30.

One cause for emotion? The singer-actor played the guitar and serenaded his beautiful bride-to-be as she walked down the aisle in a custom, petal pink Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown. ’It was an original piece I wrote specifically for the evening and for her,’ says Timberlake, who wore a Tom Ford tux he helped design.”

Gross.

Anyway, here’s a closer look at Jessica’s gown, along with the details:

“Giambattista Valli is pleased to confirm Jessica Biel wed Justin Timberlake in a custom Giambattista Valli Haute Couture wedding gown. The strapless gown of silk mousseline and silk organza consisted of a light pink floral motif and ruffles. The veil, which consists of Biel’s’ heirloom pearls, was also created for her by Giambattista Valli. All women in the bridal party, including both the mother of the bride and mother of the groom wore Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gowns to the ceremony. Jessica wore four looks with shoes and clutches from the Giambattista Valli S/S 2013 collection to events leading up to the ceremony.”

It’s pretty – and the pink was a nice choice. See? We can be nice.

The dress was pretty. I’m gad she looked nice, but more and more JT is turning into a giant capital D DOUCHE and I was completely disgusted with the wedding joke video his friends had made. Irrational or not that officially put him on my celeb hate list.

    His friends made an 8 minutes video interviewing homeless people in LA asking them to congratulate JT and Biel on their wedding day. It was supposed to be “a joke.” Gawker and Lainey gossip have more. Disgusting. He is now on my celebrity hate list as well.

      Then again, there is also the dropped trou/mooning pic from the pre wedding celebrations.

        So, let’s say your friends make an offensive video. And then they decide to play it at your wedding, as some sort of inside joke. And you realize what’s happening about 10s into the video. What do you do?
        
        I would get up, shut it off, and be SUPER MAD at my friends for a really long time, questioning why I was ever friends with them in the first place. I certainly would not let it play through, for all of my guests (who were hopefully properly horrified), to prove what a giant asshole I am on my wedding day. If I were Biel, I might have considered taking off the ring and walking out, ashamed that I had married such a giant dick, and rethought the whole thing on the spot.
        
        The person who was in charge of the video is Biel’s cousin, Justin’s assistant or something like that. The point is, he knows JT really well. He knows JT well enough that he knew JT would think that piece of shit was funny.

        I took this view before – it’s not like I speak for my friends – but it’s become public knowledge and he hasn’t made any moves to apologize, acknowledge it, or contribute to homeless shelters and such. When you’re a celeb in his situation and give a shit, it’s what you do.
        
        Besides, it does speak to the type of people he surrounds himself with. We’re left with the assumption that he was sitting there laughing along to that video.

        Of course. None of us can control the actions of our friends. That said, I personally am careful of the company I keep. And you better believe that if someone had degraded people living in poverty or homeless people at my wedding, I would have been stunned, mortified and immediately tried to make amends. There is zero excuse for this.

He’s been sliding into asswipery for a while now; I think he’s completed the descent. I was really annoyed that he didn’t help out Janet-the rich white boy, who would have been forgiven for anything and has huge industry clout, leaves the (admittedly rich) black chick hanging out to dry.         I think dick in a box could have been funny if it was performed by men who had a history of supporting feminist causes, and were known for it, because then it could be viewed as mocking the way men (in general, not all) think about their genitalia. It wasn’t an actual wedding dress, though..it was a cocktail dress, because all I could find in stores were white wedding dresses and white makes me look like a sallow corpse. I got married 2 years ago and people thought it was so weird I was wearing a pink dress, so if they do become trendy I’ll have to laugh about it.

To be fair, the staged jumping shot is a favorite of pretty much all wedding photographers. I’ve had to do a version of this one where the bridesmaids/groomsmen/groom are all jumping around the bride.

  I was thinking the same thing, along with WHY? WHY do these two need the $250k? I get that some celebrities prefer to “sell” pictures of their new babies rather than have the paps chase them down, but I think I’d still rather take my chances than have the entire world get a look at my oh so personal wedding. That’s D list reality TV star level, I had thought these two were above that.

I hope the story about them laughing and laughing at their disgusting douche of a best friend screening an **8-minute** mockery of the homeless at their fucking wedding haunts them forever. Not just the odious, overrated Justin; Jessica has made clear that her looks ‘work against’ her getting roles (when they are the only reason she’s employed, of course. Very little talent there.) They are appallingly arrogant and ignorant, the both of them and whichever similarly-amused knot of assholes invited to their circle jerk of a wedding. I wish for bad, bad shit to happen to them.

A hell of a lot of costume changes for a wedding. And the color’s pretty but all I see with her are upper-lip injections and a fairly harsh nosejob. The less said about that pube-coiffed motherfucker, the better — except, Tom Ford must have wanted to punch him into 2014 with him ‘co-designing’ the tux.

  It says “events leading up to the wedding,” not the wedding itself. You’re not going to wear your wedding dress to the shower or the rehearsal dinner. There are cultures (both Japan and China come to mind) where the bride is EXPCTED to change what she’s wearing several times, and that’s not even the traditions where a wedding takes an entire week.

I’m an old school Nsync fan from way back in the day, but the sad truth is that even at age 15 it was obvious JT was already a budding D-bag.

As I see it, one of the most cringeworthy things about that vile homeless people video filmed and shown by one of JT’s many useless hangers on is that Chris Kirkpatrick (the only former Nsyncer that JT saw fit to invite) was in the audience! This is probably something only a serious Nsync fan (or a good friend of his, as Justin has always claimed to be) would know, but Chris actually WAS homeless as a child. I can only imagine how he felt, sitting through that garbage.
