Matthew Fox is DA MAN

If you’d asked us three years ago, we would have said that Matthew Fox, Josh Holloway, and Evangeline Lilly had a shot a movie stardom ahead of them, and yet it seems like none of them have really made much of a splash. Evangeline’s got The Hobbit pictures coming up, which should definitely put her on the map for a while, but Josh was in that Mission Impossible movie for less than ten minutes and Matthew seems to have taken his sweet time putting work out. Looks like he’s gearing up to do the poledance now, though.

Matthew Fox is featured in the October/November 2012 issue of DA MAN magazine photographed by Mitchell Nguyen McCormack and styled by Lisette Mora & Adam DeNino.

On his experience on Lost: “It was a great experience and a really wonderful chapter in our lives. It was also really wonderful for our two young children, who aren’t so young anymore. We really enjoyed the six years that we spent there. Working on the show was fantastic. I really enjoyed the story and the character that I played on the show. I thought that I was given a really good opportunity to work on a role that was very complex, which gave me the chance to do a lot of different things. It was a fantastic experience all around.”

On preparing for his upcoming film Alex Cross: “I lost 35 pounds, which was difficult, but I had really expert help. I met a man in London who had done this for several people — helping them radically change their look for a specific role. We got together and he asked me what I imagined the character looking like. Afterward, he came back with a strategically laid out workout plan that involved us training together on top of a structured nutritional plan. I was very disciplined, I never cheated and I worked really hard on it. Some of the first images that were leaked from the movie made me very happy because I felt like I had re-created the image I had in my mind of what the character would look like.”

And while he’s not the greatest model in the world, he does take a nice picture and wears clothes well. It’s not the most original guyditorial we’ve ever seen, but at least he’s not brooding in the desert or sitting alone at a retro diner counter.

  I, for one, do NOT believe them. His former co-star actually went to jail (Scott Bairstow) for the same thing, and I would hope that would teach anyone that was on PO5 a lesson. And honestly, Dom Monaghan seems like douche IRL.

  I suppose his nutritional plan included copious alcohol because while shooting Alex Cross here in Cleveland, he punched a female limo driver for not giving him a ride from a strip club back to his hotel. Note that she was not his limo driver but parked waiting on the party that had hired her – a very drunk Fox just jumped in her vehicle and when she explained she was not taking him anywhere, he started wailing on her. He was arrested for this. If broke my Lost-loving heart to see that he is such a mess.

I generally don’t like tattoos but I think these make some of the shots more interesting (not the one with his arms up though). He’s got a great body for modeling clothes (not my type so I’m not really imagining him without the clothes I guess).
Here’s hoping Alex Cross will be the movie of the century too – I want Tyler Perry to be so busy being an action hero that he can’t write any more sappy comedies! (And he seems like a nice guy so why not).

I hate to be one of those bitter kittens, but is there going to be an All on The Line post? The designer was kind of stubbornly boring so I wouldn’t blame y’all.

Every time I look at Matthew Fox, I can only see the dick I saw on the last few seasons of Lost (I came in around season 3 or 4, which was a mistake, in retrospect).

He’s just so bland-looking and now all I see is Romney. I had been interested in Alex Cross but since they replaced Idris Elba with Tyler Perry, you couldn’t pay me to go see that movie.

I fully expected almost the entire cast to disappear after Lost went off the air so they’re doing better than I figured. Holloway is a comically bad actor, Lilly’s mostly indifferent to acting, and Fox is the definition of bland TV actor. I thought Naveen Andrews might make a return to movies but if he’s worked at all, I don’t know about it.
