All are stunning, but that first picture is the first time I’ve ever seen that see-through-to-your-bathing-suit-bottom sort of thing and thought, “Oh yes, that works.” Is it the formality of it? The patterns of the brocade up top and the pleats in the skirt, her look and that hat? Whatever, it’s sublime.

    I had a pretty kick-ass fascinator of pheasant feathers anchored by a golden bat for my wedding. It had more of a flapper vibe, so no veil. I think I will have to work the veil into one of my steampunk outfits.

  The editor picked open-mouth shots; the model did not necessarily pose that way for every one.

    the question being : is the editor fixated on half parted lips being the next fashion thing or did the model give him something else to work with ?
    I still find it annoying and distracting, like a one note and boring expression.
    In my opinion, it spoil the editorial and distract it from the goal : make the clothes look good and intersting.
    For me, it’s a failure. But that’s only my opinion and I understand that people are not bothered by it and are raving over the picture.
    I just don’t.

Considering many of these are straight studio shots, the fact they’re so exquisite and interesting speaks volumes for the photographer. The lighting and the detail of the fabric is sublime. Much as I love more story driven editorial shots, it’s lovely to see something so simple and so perfect. The model is beautiful too, and I just love the colours!

Except for the scrunched up shoulders, I see the hats first second and third, then her face (and I hated that eyeliner back when it was in in my young adulthood) and finally I see the clothes.

I do love the fabric textures- I can look and I think I know what the clothes woulf feel like on the outside.

I keep going back to look after I read the comments. My favorite is still the peach suit – which is all kinds of 80s-but-modern new Dynasty rich bitch fabulous.

Not sure I’m sold on the flower hat with the look, but I’m confident it would be the first thing snatched off during the cat fight in the fountain near the front door of new Carrington manor – so I can deal.
