Oh, Miss Katie. We understand the bitchface; really we do. Sometimes a gal just wants to drop her kid off at school and get in some quick grocery shopping before work. Who the hell needs a camera in their face in the middle of all that?

In a few weeks, after her Broadway reviews are in, I feel like it’s going to turn into more of a, “I was rooting for you, we were all rooting for you, HOW DARE YOU?!?!” situation. Somehow I don’t see Katie succeeding on stage.

    I remember the reviews for All My Sons were pretty mixed overall, especially for her part. She could possibly surprise everyone, I’m not sure the chances of that are super high.

    I think she might have gotten *some* buzz for her work pre-Tom Cruise, but then he and his people started to dictate her career & projects, and we can see what happened with that. It’ll be interesting to see if her career can bounce back, or if she really is that bad of an actress.

  Actually when she was on Dawson’s Creek, quite a few people thought she was a better actress than Michelle Williams. quite obviously MW improved a lot since then, Katie, not so much.

It does show you how a cute jacket can elevate nondescript basics (granted her nondescript basics cost a whole lot more than mine do).

  She seems to favor that ultra-skinny jean, bordering on Jeggings. Cathy Cambridge does, too, and I just don’t like it. Katie Holmes has great legs, but they don’t look that great in a jean this skinny. I don’t think Stacey and Clinton would approve.

    I’ve ALWAYS thought that about her too! Cathy Cambridge has legs like a baby gazelle she can wear jeggings til the cows come home, they just don’t translate the same way on Katie. She looks remarkably slimmer in skirts and dresses than she does in tight jeans.

  I am in the minority it seems, but I love a good skinny jean and think Katie has the perfect legs for them.
  
  I, um, also have my very own pair of jeggings. But there are reasons!! I have very muscular and thick thighs and very slim calves. Most jeans, skinny or otherwise, look ridiculous on me. A jegging is my only savior!

    See, I like non-stretch jeans for the same reason of having thick thighs and slimmer calves – a good 100% cotton, non-stretch jean molds to my butt and thigh and yet keeps its shape better than flimsier stretch fabrics. I have a pair of non-stretch Lees I found in a thrift store (so already used) that have held up better than any other jean I own. I can’t even find the same quality of denim in most jeans in stores nowadays.

    I wear jeggings (cringe at that word) too! But mainly because I am too lazy for real pants. Plus as someone who seems to fall exactly between sizes 4 and 6, the stretchiness is a huge benefit.

  Super skinny jeans can mess with body proportion. Especially when you have on a loose jacket it can make some ladies look like a cotton ball on some toothpicks. These actually aren’t to bad, but I do not favor them.

The jacket is terrific – it needs a home in my closet. Those tight pants/leggings/jeggings are not doing her any favors, though. And she finally looks rested! For years, this poor gal has looked exhausted and washed-out. But now, even with play rehearsals and Suri’s packed social schedule, Katie’s complexion is glowing, and I’ll bet behind the requisite sunnies, her eyes are sparkling.

I’m wishing her the best! (But I would still knock her over for that jacket.)
