Lady Gaga in Amsterdam

Steffi’s been getting on our nerves lately and we’ve been detecting a whiff of desperation in her recent attempts to get people to keep talking about her. And as the Kittens know, when a celeb gets on our nerves, that’s when we unsheath the claws.

But dammit, Steffi.

You still know how to make a fashion impact when the stiletto hits the street. We can’t stay mad at you when you leave your hotel looking like some sort of Victorian S&M Geisha. We just can’t.

We CAN stay mad at you for letting Hot Ginger Handler go, however. Steroid Picard has his charms, but we preferred that bite-sized morsel of intensity you used to have in the background.

    Ahh, in my sky-blue-pink reality, he’s tired of the travel & being on call or on deck day after day and an endless procession of airports, performance venues, hotels and hot clubs, found a gig that pays well & lets him sleep at home most nights, and is settling in for a spell of domesticity. Or what passes for domesticity in his existence.
    
    Also, submitted his resignation with dignity and left much-regretted with a standing invitation to return should the charms of home pall.

      I prefer to think that the were star-crossed lovers who had to fight against LG’s publicist, who is a malevolent son-of-a-gun
      (insert mean gay stereotype here) , always plotting against them, to stay together. In the end, they decided that the whole thing was talking a toll on them and they chose to put an end to their relationship (insert a Casablanca inspired scene here).

      Exactly my thoughts. It’s no longer innovative or interesting. It’s just overdone schtick. Bonus: there was a Hills marathon on MTV the other weekend and I sadly got sucked in. She is in one episode being styled by Whitney and People’s Revolution for a gig at a club in LA. She actually seemed nervous and nice. I wish she went back to her roots.

I just can’t with her (or those SHOES). I know this will probably give a lot of BKs fashion-gasms but I find her both batshit insane and totally uninteresting. I think the turning point for me came when she dressed as a male alter ego at the VMAs and used it as an opportunity to convince the world she was a method actor.

The hat looks as though it was created at a wedding shower out of a paper plate and the ribbons and bows from the gifts. The “dress” is from my MIL’s guest room sheets (ca: 1972 – which is when they were purchased) and those shoes, well, words fail me.

I hate the way she holds her lips. This slightly puckered but still open so that part of my teeth show kind of thing. I mean I understand that some people’s lips ARE shaped like that but, clearly not her’s. The look, though? I can’t even try to lie and say that she looks bad. It’s beautiful and interesting as usual.

I’m always amazed at how well she wears things. I mean, she’s so damn tiny and there’s not much of a figure there. If she’d worn normal size white stillettos, I would be standing and applauding.

I love the silhouette. With the hat it’s like a Dior New Look quote, but the delicate floral fabric takes it somewhere else. It’s unusual to see her in something so explicitly femmy. I think she’s channeling Marie Antoinette with a very broad wink.
