Jude Law Loves His Vest

Jude looks utterly British and utterly amazing here.

Jude Law attends the premiere of ‘Anna Karenina’ in London.

Until you get to his pants hem.

REALLY, Jude? All that work to look sharp as shit, and you couldn’t get someone to run out for some hemming tape? How disappointing. With a proper hem, this would have been a WERQ.

He certainly loves showing off that vest, doesn’t he? Sorry, “waistcoat.”

    Unfortunately I think Jude usually gets a pass from T.Lo. He practically wore track pants on the RC once along with a rasta cap, and even that didn’t warrant a ding.

    Depends on the trousers. In this case his pants are clearly designed for a belt, so he should be wearing one. Pants meant to be worn with braces do not, as a rule, have belt loops. There’s no hard and fast rule.

    The span on the chest is fine. I suspect you’re reacting to the squared off bottom. It was quit popular in menswear at the beginning of the 20th. It is, even so, a trifle short for his torso.

For a long time I didn’t think that Law would age well, but I appear to be very wrong on that count. He looks great. I love his shoes and the tiny hint of colorful pocket square peaking out.

Several flaws here: hem, lack of belt, neck beard, and the darned hands in pockets, which has the effect of making his beloved vest look too short and his waist bigger than I am sure it really is. I wish that there were a tiny fashion elf, like the brownies of legend, who would slip into fitting rooms every night and sew all suit pants pockets shut.

The concept of this look IS super sharp, but the execution is a fail because a) Acckkkhhhh… neck beard makes me retch for realzies; b) peek-a-boo tie sticking out below the vest gives off a vibe similar to when a guy has the tip of his junk coming out of his shorts and he (wrongly) assumes it’s all supersexy; c) the way everything is fitting him *does* make him look portly, and we know that he’s not; d) all of the above.

Um…did TLo replace themselves with pod people while at NYFW? Everything about this look seems off to me. Hands in pockets make the pants look ill-fitting (and yes, too long), the shirt & tie look off, and the vest looks too tight. The one close-up with the jacket buttoned looked great until I noticed – NECK BEARD!

I get why this is fabulous despite the little iss-yews with pants and etc: because he looks like he was just shot out of a cannon and landed in front of the photographers exploding with Jude Law virility, hotness and swagger!
