My first experience of JGL was the movie Mysterious Skin, in which he is sad and dark…so that’s how I thought of him. A serious, moody guy — the guy in these photos. Was so surprised when I saw him on some talk show a couple of years later, and he turned out to be smiley and light-hearted and charming. A true free spirit.

I like the photo’s, but JGL just doesn’t rock my boat.
I also hate the fact that male celebs are usually being photographed doing cool stuff, but the female celebs are being photographed in sexy clothes and poses, basically as just eye-candy (and not just in lads’ mags). *rant over*

In vest, feet up at desk in noir-esque pose. That’s the only shot I love here. Not that the rest are awful. The pumping gas photo is pretty nice, indeed.

I think I just don’t admire him, personally, enough.

The part of the video with him driving the snazzy car was working for me till he ostentatiously pushes up the sunglasses, highlighting the expensive watch – I know baby needs new shoes & all, but that tipped the balance between “oohhh, nice” and “Over-obviously Flogging Stuff.”

I have always found his on-screen persona rather boyishly charming. Off screen, I could take him or leave him. However, lately he has really been bringing great style to his public image. It is such a contrast to the boy stars who strut out in what looks like their cleanest dirty shirt, and scruffy face, full of self-importance. I actually remember him from a very short-lived show called “The Powers That Be,” and was fascinated by the little boy (he was about 9 at the time) with the old man face. Then he was Tommy Solomon and now he was the teenager with the old man face (which is why he was perfect to play the old science officer trapped in a teenager’s body) and I thought he really had something compelling about his looks that wouldtransition well into adulthood.

Boy was I underestimating that. His face has not changed since he was nine, but as his age catches up with that face he just gets more and more gorgeous.

Love him. But SO bored with the James Dean/vintage roadster guyditorials!! (TLo, you’re the ones who pointed out to me how incredibly overdone it is… surprised no further comment here.) So I guess that’s why I’m overly enthusiastic about the vest/desk shot? The fashion isn’t unique, but it’s such a refreshing, crisp contrast to the rest of the shots and so thoughtfully styled.
