Britney Spears for ELLE Magazine

A very smooth and slightly Uncanny Valley version of Brit lands on the cover of ELLE:

Britney Spears covers the October 2012 issue of ELLE magazine photographed by Alexi Lubomirski and styled by Joe Zee.

And while the face looks iffy (from a realism perspective), we’ve gotta say, you couldn’t find a more perfect dress for Brit than that one.

On her relationship with Jason Trawick:
Jason Trawick tells ELLE Britney made the first move in their relationship: “It was kind of one of those things where she moved, like, turned around, so we were face-to-face, and then-” Britney’s response? “Okay, that’s enough information, sweetie. It was sweet, just say that.”

On her laid-back style:
“I love my jeans and my sweats-I’m really just a tomboy at heart. So it’s really hard for me to be like Kim Kardashian and be makeup-and hair-ready every time I go out of my house. I’m not a believer in that, you know? On the other hand, when you do wear those sweats, you’re like, Oh God, I should step it up a notch.”

On dealing with paparazzi scrutiny:
“I guess I’ve been under the microscope so long that I don’t even pay attention to the nonsense anymore. I gave up getting upset about things people make up about me a long time ago.”

Inside, she looks much more natural, but the clothes are no less Britney:

Tiered gown, Just Cavalli. Pavé diamond bracelet, Bulgari. Suede boots, Kanye West. Her own ring.

Leather and patent leather jacket, Jason Wu. Satin bra, Dolce & Gabbana. Swarovski-crystal-embellished bloomers, The Blonds. Fishnets, Falke. Cutout satin boots, Roger Vivier. Her own earrings, ring.

The funny thing is, we really can believe that she’d dress in a bra, panties, and a leather jacket to record a song. She looks cute, though.

Rooting for her! She looks good, even though we all know she’s a bit… messier looking in real life.

        Plus, she’s got tons of people who are getting rich on a percentage of those buckets of money…and those people are likely to push-push-push her to stay in the limelight for more delicious cash. When, sometimes, I swear, girl appears to need a few months in sweats and hiding under the duvet.

You know, as much as I want to like her and see her doing well, the fact that this grown ass woman is still under conservatorship creeps me out. It is totally possible that there are very legitimate mental health issues at play, but they keep on pushing her in the press as a competent adult when legally she is anything but. It’s like watching a Victorian era pre-feminist melodrama. Something out of Ibsen.

        22 here. Reruns were a lifesaver. Luckily, I got a job and bought the series on DVD. I thought the edits were cracktastic on Lifetime. Hallmark destroys jokes. They cut out Rose’s conversation with Dorothy about the word thrice, but left in the “thrice of them sitting on the couch” with the laugh soundtrack. If I were watching that for the first time, it would make no sense.

        I think we’re the same person! I’m on my way to collecting them all, and I agree that Hallmark just destroys episodes. I also hate that the episodes in the morning that I have on while I get ready for work are also shown again that night, but I guess it makes sense! Oh gosh, no one my age has ever understood my GG love before!! I may shed a tear!

There’s something about Britney that makes me think she’d be just as happy in life as a waitress, with a bunch of kids and a trucker husband, living life out in the boonies, drinking beer and chillin on her (trailer?) porch. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. I think her problems arose when her managers tried to take the country fried down-home girl out of her and turn her into this slick and polished pop star.

Talk about fug the cover! OUCH! The eyeliner looks different on the right eye, pulling it down, making it smaller, and on a different plane than the right. It also looks like Brit is smizing on that side only. I gasped.

I’m on the ‘I just can’t’ bandwagon with Britney. She does seem like a sad case, but I don’t care for her music (her voice sounds oddly froglike to me), and the deer in a headlights/need for conservatorship thing is creepy to me as well.

It’s hard to tell from the photos but the clothes do seem to fit her. This Jason guy seems like the best guy she’s ever dated. I sincerely hope he is good to her.
