Selena is serving up late-’60s Ronstadt realness; a reference bound to go over the heads of any Teen Vogue readers.

“It’s really fun. I’m lucky. I’m 20. I don’t take anything in my personal life too seriously. I have great friends and a solid group of people I love. I feel like everything else will come organically.”

“Being part of the Disney Channel was such a blessing, and I’m super happy with what my show accomplished, but acting is something I would like to take on more seriously. I don’t necessarily feel accomplished. I want to create a whole different persona when it comes to acting.”

“I’ve never been comfortable with saying, ‘Here’s a top that I’m going to sell for $350, and it’s just a T-shirt.’ I get sent things that are really nice, and I’m like, ‘This is cute,’ and I look at the tag and it’s $200. I’m like, Oh my gosh, people probably think I buy it, and I don’t. It’s really weird.”

Cute pictures. Nothing earth-shatteringly stunning or anything, but then again, that’s not usually how Teen Vogue rolls.

She is such a natural beauty, although I did prefer when her hair was slightly darker.

And she probably gets coaching for interviews or something, but she comes across as much more aware than most 20 year-olds in general, let alone 20 year-old famous starlets.

My aunt had the poster of Linda Ronstadt wearing that jean shirt above her bed when I was a kid. Actually, I think she STILL has that poster over her bed… (I have Silver Threads and Golden Needles in my head now)

I’ve never really had an opinion about her, but she is cute. I like that at least she is aware at how ridiculously priced some clothing is.

  Yes, she’s aware of the high price of designer t-shirts but the cynical side of me thinks it’s a bit disingenuous to say she doesn’t pay that much for her clothes when we all know she could probably afford to buy us all 10 times over.

My 9-year old nephew says she’s the only one prettier than me. 2nd place to this lovely young lady is A-OK by me. Am so glad I haven’t seen her lady parts, or video of her stumbling home drunk – she seems to be quite the class act.

Linda was great – although I wasn’t into the Mexian folk-song period. I saw her in the early (and I mean early) 80′s. They had to prop her up at the microphone to sing – but she belted out a great show!

    You don’t have to be 13 years old to do that! ; ) But I wonder if the companies who supplied the clothes for the photo shoot would be thrilled to know that the person wearing their items in Teen Vogue was going to be dissing the idea of what they cost. She’s basically saying that even as wealthy as she is, she wouldn’t buy them.

  I gave my teenaged SIL a subscription to Seventeen for the Christmas after she turned 13, shortly after my MIL complained that now she constantly wanted to buy things from the mag. My response: “That’s why I didn’t get her Teen Vogue“. Princess gets what she wants.

But her teen fans, like my niece, will squeal with delight at this issue. Selena is a goddess to 13-year old Claire. They will study each picture and plan a trip to the mall. So far the clothes are not as big a hit as the necklaces in photo three.

I thought I would have to open the wallet for some new clothes but Claire is already distracted by a new text about BIG TIME RUSH. Whew. That was a close one.

Great sweaters. She’s always been the level-headed one of the current Disney crop, glad to see that hasn’t changed. She is totally rocking the Ronstadt aesthetic here, my dad had all of her records (and played them frequently). Pretty girl and a string of pearls.
