Love that dress. We normally hate T-straps but those shoes are all kinds of adorable/fierce. They’re perfect choices to go with this dress, because they pull out that blue-gray from the other colors without looking too matchy. We’d applaud her stylist’s matching skills, but it’s not that hard when you’re pulling from the same collection. Our only criticism is that her hair needs a little zhuzhing.

And Eva? We hope you thanked Mama profusely for passing on that spectacular rack to you.

      Yeah totally agree – the shoes are more work-y, and the dress is so Spring and fresh, and the colours don’t quite match. I’d love those shoes with a really amazing skirt and crisp shirt, for example.

She could have done without the push up bra. There’s a slight baby head thing going on. Also? SHOES! I love these and would wear them myself, but I’d like them more if they fit. Can designers or stylist not figure out that the shoes would look better if they actually fit the celeb wearing them?

    I don’t think it’s a push up bra or discount a thin woman having a good rack. My entire family, thick and thin alike are all c or d cups. It’s just that the only way they go all baby head is when they are intentionally positioned that way.

She looks very pretty, and yes, the spectacular cleavage adds some sexiness. Girl’s got some good genes. I would be more on board with the shoes if they fit. How do these ladystars walk around in too-big shoes without getting blisters?

    Wow. Really? No size request for something as critical as shoes? Especially since actresses seem to be either teeny tiny (Reese Witherspoon probably wears a size 5) or Amazonian (Charlize Theron probably wears a size 10). I can’t imagine just saying, “hey, can you send over some shoes?”

    And, as I feel like I am about to begin harping on continually: these events almost always take place in Big Cities! With messenger services! and competing overnight delivery firms! How darn hard can it be to get the right size, even if, for some inscrutable reason they are willing to loan you several pairs of expensive shoes, but not two sizes of each pair at a time?
    
    I wonder if any celebrity ever says “I will not wear shoes that do not fit and force me to walk awkwardly and risk tripping?” and gets away with it?

        Oh! Because the putty actually takes the shape of their feet, thus enabling them to wear the shoe without the typical shoe size issues! And then later, they can press them on the funny pages and stretch out the comics.

  Back in the dark ages, when I used to pull clothes for fashion shows, we always requested the shoe in a size 8.5. Most of the models then wore around an 8 or so, and if they really wore a 10 they just crammed their feet into them. It was just too much work to select a shoe that worked with the garment, and then have to specify a size as well. Everybody just took it in stride. (Sorry.)
  
  Maybe similar guidelines still apply today.

I love both the dress and shoes but actually don’t like them together. To me, the dress is summery and wants a strappy sandal. The shoes are fall and want a pencil skirt and a hot cashmere sweater.

And like the others – yes, hate that the shoes are two sizes too big. What’s up with that? Can’t they just send over 2 pairs (since shoe sizes are so wildly inconsistent) and the person could wear the pair that fits and send the others back? I do this with Zappos all the time since they have free shipping both ways.

  I think in general free shoes are a size 9. That’s the sample size, but since model feet are usually bigger (hey, being 5’9″ means ya gots big feet) than tiny starlet feet, there’s a huge discrepancy. I’m betting most of these actress ladies are a solid 7. What grosses me out is how many feet have been in those shoes before yours. *shudder*

That photo of the shoes is killing me. I love them, but they are just too big for her dainty little foot. I can hear the slap-slap-slapping of her heels with each step. Dress is cute, she has nice cleaveage; little apple didn’t fall far from the tree.

  Yes – it’s almost as bad as the legs-crossed-because-I-need-to-pee pose. Who dreamt these up, anyway? Did you ever see pictures of folks like Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren, Grace Kelly, Lauren Bacall, Audrey Hepburn and so on posing like this? Hell to the NO, because those stars knew how to WERQ. Granted, they weren’t constantly bombarded by paps and random passers-by with cell phone cameras as happens today, but still: when they were on the carpet, they were ON THE CARPET, looking every inch the star.

2 complaints: 1. Shoes are at least 2 sizes to big. It looks bad and must be difficult to walk in them. 2. The print on that dress is not matched, so there are a lot of hacked up components along the seam lines. This is Dressmamking 101, either select a fabric that is not hacked up by the pattern, or do some very meticulous piecing so the seams are not noticeable. If this dress was in a bargain bin, I would not say anything. But you KNOW that Tony Whats-his-name is charging an arm and a leg for it, and he owes his customers a good product. This is not a good product.

Great shoes. I think these T-straps work because the T is short. When the T is longer, they never stay straight and end up more like Z-straps.

I really like those shoes, even though T-straps never seem to work for my foot shape. But the heel height actually looks as though a gal could walk further than the length of a red carpet. (However, is it just me, or are the shoes about a full size too big on her?)

And really, having a mom as incredibly beautiful as Susan Sarandon is SUCH a nice way to begin a swim in the gene pool of pretty, isn’t it? Little Eva sure gives good face!

The shoes may have needed to be that (too large) size lengthwise because her instep is high and anything smaller would cut off circulation to her toes.

I love T-straps and these two-tone wingtips are beautiful – but they’re at least one full size (maybe more) too large for her. That I hate. But she looks gorgeous.

As to her being a clone of Susan Sarandon, there is a resemblance but she more strongly favors her father, Franco Amurri. Really, google him.

ETA: Wingtip pumps or Spectator pumps? Same dif?

The things you learn – the mystery of large shoes is explained. Thanks gang! On another shoe related question, why is the stylists can be fantastic at putting the makeup, hair, accessories and outfit together, but leave the shoes as an afterthought? As dull as they can be, why wouldn’t we see more simple black flats rather than the pink showgirls or putty numbers with the insane heels? Why would you risk ruining a perfect outfit with fugly shoes. Which would you rather – someone saying, ‘eh, dull shoes’ or ‘wonderful outfit but those shoes make me want to stab someone with a fork, stat’…
