This chick isn’t giving up her pixie cut without a fight.

Emma Watson covers the The New York Times T Style ‘Fall Fashion Issue’ magazine photographed by Alasdair McLellan and styled by Anastasia Barbieri.

Then again, if it works, why change it? LOVE these pics. The girl can wear clothes and work a lens (too many pics looking directly at it, though). It’s a shame her acting skills aren’t on par with her camera presence.

What? We had to say something bitchy.

What a stunning young lady, although I will say that I think less is more when it comes to makeup on her. She looks pretty terrific in the more menswear-inspired looks. I want that tweed coat and newsboy cap. I want them right now.

  YES. She’s lovely, and can work strong eyeliner, but she’s not suited to a face full of makeup. There were closeups from a movie premiere (I think the final HP) and she had loads of eyeshadow, just cringeworthy.
  
  I wonder why ladies like her and Emma Stone were given makeup campaigns (Lancome and Cover Girl respectively) when the result is them trotting out the wares and thus looking like crazed 8 year olds who got into their mom’s vanity. I obviously spend my time thinking about very silly things.

I don’t think I fully understood the phrase “she has great bone structure” until Emma Watson. Her face is just amazing. Her haircut frames it so beautifully. She has a level head on her shoulders and seems plenty smart enough and she has an amazing camera presence -the photos are no exception -although her expression in the houndstooth pic is a bit off, everything else is perfection.

I think my only complaint re: Emma’s acting is that she overdoes the facial expressions when she’s talking. Other than that, I thought she was fine (judging solely on her as Hermione — aside from her new movie coming out, has she BEEN in anything else?).

  I never was into the Harry Potter stuff, but one of the movies was on ABC Family and I watched for a few minutes to kill time. I was so distracted by her wiggly eyebrows that I never had any idea what she said.

  Well, she may only have played one part, but she’s been in something like 8-9 movies. At her age, and allowing for some time to get an education and have something approaching a normal life, I don’t think we can expect too much more output. She’s actually been pretty smart in (literally) keeping her face in front of the public while she goes to school.
  
  The next few years are going to be crucial in decidng whether she makes the transition from child star to grown actress.

    Yeah, I don’t mean it to be critical as much as something that I noticed from her in the very first Harry Potter movie, which I wrote off as her being all of, what 11 years old, but kinda stuck with her. She seems like she has a good head on her shoulders, which bodes much better for her future than a lot of the talented actresses from the US who jump off the deep end (Lindsay Lohan is forever a tragic story to me, she’s got so much talent….)

  Amen to long hair being overrated. I think hair extension companies have a very, very lucrative niche and don’t want to lose it. With the exception of Michelle W., almost all celebs who get pixies end up letting them grow out immediately. Personal choice? Or stylist’s choice?

Pixie cuts and menswear forever. Too cute. And I will say I think she did evolve as an actress as the HP films went on (she even reined in the eyebrow acting a bit!). I look forward to seeing the new couple movies she has coming out.

She looks lovely here, and I really like both the hair and all the clothes except the horizontal striped shirt and possibly odd-fitting trousers (hard to see on my monitor) in the third photo. Those trousers look like they fit the way a slightly too large pair of the bib trousers worn by marching bands fit some of the girls (and slighter guys.)
