We are officially in love with Miss Emily.

‘Revenge’ star Emily Van Camp covers the latest issue of Hamptons magazine photographed by Stephan Würth.

Not that there was ever any doubt. Anyone who can go toe to toe with Victoria Grayson and not blink is someone we want to love, but after reading these two responses, little hearts are popping all around our heads, Sally Brown-style:

Do you have a favorite designer?
EVC: I went to Jason Wu’s show when I was in New York. That was amazing— to see these unbelievably gorgeous women walking around in the designer’s clothes. It’s otherworldly. I want to do more of it. I find it fascinating.

Are you working with a stylist?
EVC: Sometimes. What’s nice about working with a stylist is being pushed to step outside the box a little bit and try something new. I tend to be very traditional and stick to the basics. I’m just developing a desire to get into that world. It’s nice to learn from people who know what they’re doing.

YES! THANK YOU! Give us answers like these rather than the standard, sullen, “I’m not really into fashion,” or “I don’t need a stylist.” A lot of actresses have a hard time admitting that they’re in an industry that values beauty to a ridiculously high degree. The smart ones – even if they’re not into fashion – are the ones who realize, upon reaching the higher echelons of fame, that it would be a good idea to learn as much as they can about that world or to put their trust in people who know it better than they do. What a refreshing couple of answers.

And it’s paying off for her. We remember when the show first hit and she started making red carpet appearances, she demonstrated a distinct lack of comfort in putting herself on display like that. But she’s getting better and better at wearing the more difficult styles out there. We’re hoping season 2 of Revenge gets away from the bandage dresses and offers up some harder-edged stuff. Who wouldn’t want to see Emily Thorne in that badass Rag & Bone dress or Victoria in that eye-popping Etro? Revenge is a show tailor-made for high-end fashion and we bet the show’s costumer had all kinds of dresses and pieces thrown at her during the hiatus by designers eager to get on the bandwagon.

  I like many peplums – in fact I had been wondering whether a nightly cut and seamed jacket with a peplum, paired with the skirt, would have been a good choice for Ven in the last challenge.

I kind of see Victoria Grayson more in something as dark and dramatic as the Rag & Bone than Emily’s character, but I love her to pieces. I’m really glad she’s improved in the role–I remember when reviewers complained at the beginning that she was just blank and boring as that character, but she’s really made it work for her, and part of it is how she struts around wearing fantastic clothes. She’s giving good face and pose–so happy to see!

She looks KILLAH in that Rag & Bone number, and the Etro is stupendous. Plus this whole editorial reminds me how much I’m anticipating yet another season of the adventures of Hamptons Batgirl. Couture Camp? Can’t get enough of THAT!

Emily gets major props from me for these pictures. The outfits are a parade of stuff I don’t like at all—BDSM remake of Flash Gordon, sheer over granny panties, sheer skirt tacked onto an otherwise unremarkable short dress and a peplum (these are a few of my least favorite things) and she still looks great. You go, girl.

That Rag and Bone dress makes Emily look like THE high fashion superheroine. LOVE. Clearly the editors have been reading you guys and taking cues on her Hamptons Batman persona (or did Nolan actually say that? I need a refresh). She is so very amazing and I can’t WAIT for the new season.

Your comments on the value of learning from people in the world of fashion remind me of Hillary Clinton. Here is a woman who never cared about her appearance, moved into a world in which her appearance matters very much, and has clearly worked hard fashioning a look for herself. She always looks pulled together now because it matters.

Sheis gorgeous, but most of those clothes were horribe. I am getting tired of seeing the bra and granny panties through the sheer overlay. This is not a good look. It can look like lingerie, but mostly looks tacky. The use of leather this season misses. Full skirts, that odd panel down the bodice of the Rag & Bone dress (which had WAY too much going on), and so on. That R&B dress would have been fine with EITHER the leather applique, OR the big coppery wad at the shoulder. Together they were too much. Because of the other (p)leather, the designer should have just eliminated the coppery wad. The first dress on the magazine cover is beautiful, and it is downhill from there.

That Dolce & Gabbana lumpy lace underwear coverup is all kinds of hideous. The rest of it is interesting for her, but she really does convey sort of a traditionalist vibe.

It’s not so much that she said intelligent things, it’s just that other celebrities say such dumb pretentious nonsense.

Working with people who have more knowledge on an area you are not familiar with? That’s something anybody who’s sane and of normal intelligence would do.

She looks fantastic. I’m partial to the DKNY because of its relative simplicity. I’m not loving her hair, though, a little too beachy for these looks. Makeup looks good although I think a bit more color on her lips would have been even prettier.

I also can’t wait for the return of Revenge! I’ve been watching old Mad Men episodes that I missed (basically all of the first four seasons) and it’s been a pleasant surprise to see Gabriel Mann as Arthur in season 2. Who knew?

I’m clearly in the minority here, but I think she makes a terrible model. Oh, she’s a suitable mannequin as her figure is lovely, and the dresses are amazing. But I perceive her facial expression as awkward and/or bland in each of these photos. Of course, that doesn’t change my love for her or Revenge one bit!

There’s a fabulous accessories store near me — and I LUST over everything they have in stock — but what I value most and what makes me want to live permanently in their retail space is their amazing staff. They’re a collection of supremely talented people who know how to guide you in discovering for yourself what works best for you. I’ve brought in inherited jewelry from the 20s, 40s, and 60s, and they’ve shown me how to combine my older things with new pieces to create unique looks I would never have thought of on my own.

They’re also great educators, who willing explain why something does or doesn’t work (it’s like a mini fashion tutorial whenever I shop!). I’d be a (poorly accessorized) idiot if I didn’t take advantage of their wealth and breadth of knowledge to refine my style. What Emily says about stepping outside of your comfort zone to try something new is refreshingly honest and certainly true, but it only works if you have confidence and trust in the people you’ve chosen to help you.
