Darlings, we went out for a very delicious, but fairly heavy meal last night. We’re telling you this because very delicious, very heavy meals like that tend to leave us both with food hangovers and we’re finding ourselves incredibly sluggish and slightly cranky this morning.

Thankfully, we have David Beckham to ease the pain. Not literally, of course. As far as we know, he’s still living with Vicki in a house made entirely out of mirrors. We just mean we have him to stare at and now we’re passing that on to you. It’s a lovely way to start the day, don’t you find?

David Beckham covers the September 2012 issue of Esquire UK magazine photographed by Josh Olins.

On how he wants to be remembered:
“Just as a hard-working footballer. I want to be remembered firstly as a good and successful footballer because that’s what I’ve done for many years. And then who knows after that?”

On taking his clothes off for photo shoots:
“It’s definitely got easier over the years, but when I was in New York, seeing a huge poster [of himself in a pair of briefs] on the side of a building, that was quite daunting. I remember driving past there, and stopping and running out and taking a picture, and this guy walked past me and he was like, ‘Oh, my God! Have you seen your d**k up there?’ Something disgusting like that. That was funny.”

On his friendship with the royal family:
“It’s a very normal relationship. With Harry as well. They’re very easy to get along with. They love their sport. William loves Aston Villa, unfortunately, which obviously I give him a bit of stick about.”

But he really does only have one facial expression.

God Bless that man. And his one facial expression. Although he was ridiculously sexy driving that boat with that smile on his face during the opening ceremonies. I don’t think I could ever tire of him.

  Pfft, not at all. I love tattoos and a nicely built tattooed fella. Hell, I don’t care if a dude is tatted or not if he’s well-built, but it helps if he’s got nice artwork. Not a fan of stickers.

I somewhat unfortunately must say I think he looks FAR too old for that styling. At least 10years too much so. That shirt in the cover photo is much more suited to the Taylor Lautner / Zac Efron generation.

    I know, right? The first time I heard him speak I couldn’t believe it! The attraction went way down, and then, it sort of seemed sweet, this gorgeous specimen sounding like a bit of a dingbat. He came off as shy and sweet and simple (not stupid, just simple) and that was really lovely.

  Yes! I generally think that the lines in a person’s face are what gives it character and I don’t necessarily see “wrinkles” as a bad thing. On a hot man like him, the more weathered his face, the more rugged and sexy he looks.

Oh my that first inside picture with him in the chair…. his right thigh muscles are so pronounced, it looks like he is wearing jeggings on the right leg and jeans on the left.

Interesting that the quote talks about him as a footballer…. I’d have expected to see something about being a father.

I don’t normally get my chime rung by tatooed pretty boys with too much ink but he always manages to bang that gong for me. I think it’s because whenever I see him with his kids he seems to be genuinely enjoying being a dad.
