Cameron Diaz shops at the Soho Stella McCartney store in New York City.

… because the shoes are super-cute and we kind of like the bag, and the jacket’s kinda sassy, but honey, we simply can’t sign off on those high-waisted denim short shorts. That’s just asking way too much of us, hon.

    Amen to higher waists (spoken as a woman with a freakishly long torso who can pull them off), but I find them easier to fit with skirts rather than pants. I do have high waisted pants, but they’re harder to fit correctly in the crotch.

I show my complete lack of maturity? propriety? when I looked at those shorts and went “People think they’re short? There’s like 4 or 5 inches of inseam!” and would consider them too long and old for me, especially combined with that mom jean high waist.

Not crazy about the shorts but I’m still getting my head around anything near the bellybutton/normal waist being called “high-waisted.” That term to me describes pants/skirts that end below the bust, like an empire style. And I’m pronouncing that “m-pire” not “om-peer.”

  Yeah. I’m enough of a fogey that I remember where the waist actually is. Perhaps after so many years of seeing people in hiphuggers (which have the unfortunate effect of making the wearer look like a rectangle if a shirt is tucked in) the young-uns have forgotten that such a body zone exists.

That one shot of Cam leaving the store with a gaggle of paparazzi lying in wait did make me cringe. RC is one thing; it has to get really old really fast to have that be part of your everyday life so that Bitter Kittens like us have something to judge.
