Alexander Skarsgård for GQ Style Australia

We know he has plenty of panting fans, but the more we look at him, the less Skarsgård does for us.

‘True Blood’ star Alexander Skarsgård covers the Fall/Winter 2012 issue of GQ Style Australia photographed by Steven Pan.

It doesn’t help that he’s constantly asked to pose for editorials and then serves up shot after shot looking like he’s about to burst into tears at any moment. The cover says that he’s “hot-blooded,” but every picture says “Could I borrow a sweater?”

We’re all for the sensitive types, but stop touching yourself and stop with the pleading facial expressions, Alexander.

  Haha, I think he’s quite an attractive man and I liked him on True Blood (before the show went to shit a couple seasons ago and I stopped watching) but that cover photo may have put me off him forever. What were they thinking?

    Frankly, I’ve always found his father Stellan to be infintely sexier (sort of like the Donald/Kiefer Sutherland conundrum). But of course, one’s mileage may vary.

I think the problem with these shots is that the look doesn’t seem to suit him that well. I’d see him in a Ralph Lauren ad before a deep v tshirt…especially with all the chest hair. I think you have to be a hipster skinny guy, or totally smooth shaven to pull of the deep v that well. But a chunky sweater, jeans, boots, and tousled hair would totally be him.

I’ve seen him on talk shows, and I think the problem is his character on “True Blood” is pretty much exactly the opposite of his real personality (a cross between Richie Cunningham and Howdy Doody)… Apparently he can manage to pull off “blue steel” with a script to follow, but not in a photoshoot.
