South Korea appears to be this magical place of insane beauty where no one can tell what your clothes look like.

(I should double check — this is South Korean vogue, right?)

  Yep it is (at least the names are Korean of everyone listed). I’ve lived here awhile, and in the big cities, Korean ladies BRING IT when it comes to looking amazing (At least in the bigger metropolitan cities, and Korean celebrities are generally gorgeously put together). The men dress well too, but a bit too ultra-feminine for my taste.

It’s stunning. I don’t know how to say this without being crude – does anyone else see those boats and the placement of the props and models as looking like…vulvas? Take another look, it’s not as crazy as you think. Also, it’s no less beautiful.

the shorter wedding dress, i really love. it makes me want to get married again just so i can wear it. luckily, there are no male victims in sight.

That so many of these are backgrounded by a (brand new) flat boat that I didn’t see until I got past the stuffs, then to the dresses, then to….the background.
I saw some suggestions earlier about what the flat boat represented. I’d add another dimension, based on having lived in a city with a huge Catholic population. Many, many neighborhoods had statues of (the real) Madonna in at least half the front yards; all of those statues were protected by masonry forms that are very close in shape to the flat boat on end.So, based on seeing all those Madonnas in so many neighborhoods, I see many of these photos as Madonnas, all dolled up and posing, but Madonnas nonetheless.

Please just get out of the damned boat, I can’t see what you’re wearing. The first couple of pics look like she’s laying down
in the middle of alot of sushi rolls. The prints are very pretty. The wedding dresses and the following two pics may be nice,
but it’s difficult to appreciate the clothing; the setups don’t do much for them.

Man, I wish I’d been at the brainstorming session for this one. Designer leaps to feet, vision shining from his/her forehead: “I’ve got! Sheep, boat, LUGGAGE!” Everyone else: “Brilliant!” And weirdly, it is.

lovely -lovely story. I see it as a young girl falls asleep on the way to the market in her boat -and then dreams of travels, getting married and the fantasies in books. The last one confuses me a bit -it is sort of “old man and the sea” reminiscent -so I’m not sure if she is dreaming of that or if while she has been dreaming everything has been taken.

    That’s what I was thinking. I think it is meant to look a bit like undergarments. At the top of the boat is a scrap of fabric that resembles the first dress.
    
    And the more I look at it with the Marlin in the foreground the more I think they were trying to conjure up “The Old Man and the sea”

Does anybody else see a slight..Pietà-like posing with this? Lady Madonna curled up with the Renaissance-like centered pictures (the technical term for that is lost on me, help me art majors)? Just me?
