      When they show candids of her – now mostly with Cory – she’s usually makeup free and sometimes schlubby looking. When she’s at events, I see that as everyone dressed up and she’s no more made up than others. I don’t recall seeing her as Kardashian-like or Kardashian-lite off the clock.

The young women I work with often use the word “hoebag” (not really sure how that’s spelled) when referring to other “chics” (a word my feminist buddies of the early 70′s and I agreed never to use). When I said something to them about it they told me it was empowering somehow. But I don’t buy it and they have no idea where I’m coming from either. I cringe every time I here them.

    Nope, she’s semi-trained and even did pointe work on Glee’s first season. Now, she was actually really bad en pointe (and is generally not the best dancer on the show) but you can’t just throw someone in pointe shoes who has never done it before. I’m assuming lessons were part of her Broadway pedigree, even if dance isn’t exactly her thing.

  I think its more of the “she used to feel that no one would or did think she was beautful, and now she does” syndrome. She has talked about how she was told so many times she wasn’t pretty enough to make it in Hollywood and how glee helped her feel truly beautiful. I dont know, i think thats why I tend to give her more of a pass for the way she seems to present herself.

She’s been doing musical theatre forever, and she seems to always play to the cheap seats, whether she’s shooting a commercial or walking the red carpet. Over-the-top theatrical, to the point of “chewing on the scenery”. I suspect, if she stays around long enough, she’ll settle in to a more natural persona. At least I hope so. But until then, “Of course!”

I wanted a pair of Candie’s SO badly when I was about 12 or 13 (during their initial heyday in the early ’80s), and my mother said to me “You may not have a pair. The only people who wear Candie’s are girls who are ‘easy’. Well, for her, she is relatively well covered. Her hair is gorgeous, and the makeup is done well. The shoes are even kinda cute. She’s got great legs. Doesn’t make me like her any more than before, but she gets props for working this campaign.
