Call me crazy, but when I think of surrealist garments, I think of our goddess Schiaparelli, praise her light, not this… stuff. A spatula strapped to a hat does not a surrealist chapeau make.

I think the stylist &/or editor needs to look at what defines surrealism because this is not it.

So…a teenager standing against a decaying wall is supposed to represent a surrealist workshop? Whatever. The hair is fun. The gloves are completely distracting. The hats are a trip. The shot with the peach and black is nicely composed…but there’s no story here.

Man are the stoneys bitter tonite!! But seriously despite all the self-conscious “artsyness” of these shots theres nothing to see here. So i get all the vitriol. Actually I share it.

I love black with candy colors, but I think only that girl from PR who kept using ‘surreal’ in the wrong context would call this surreal.

I appreciate the efforts of the model to rock this line. Which still doesn’t keep the editorial from looking completely silly.
More granny panties, ridiculous sandals. The model does make giant belts as hats look pretty good though.

How odd to style such heavy, wintery garments for the top and sandals at the bottom. But odd is not the same as surrealist.

Pastels overload. What is surrealist about this? Except the hats. But I’ve seen stranger things in Ascot.

It is a pet peeve of mine when people throw are around powerful words with specific meanings without doing their homework about what they mean. Surrealist? Huh?
Having said that, some of the clothes are nice and the braids remind me of Pippi Longstocking.

Is this what happens to the extra costumes from Cirque de Soeleil? Is this what happens to the extra backgrounds for the set? There are no clothes here to wear. Only costumes. yuck.

I agree with AW on Schiaparelli coming to mind when it comes to Surrealist fashion, or perhaps Dali’s jeweled lips brooch. The sorbet colors of the collection are still very pretty though.
