Chris Hemsworth for Esquire UK

Thor gets the standard Guyditorial (Long-Haired Variant) from Esquire UK.

Chris Hemsworth is featured in the July 2012 issue of Esquire UK magazine photographed by David Titlow and styled by Tanja Martin.

And we have to say, it’s a little disappointing. Esquire is one of those mags that we assume is going to give us more than the standard “thousand-yard-stare-plus-jean-jacket” set of pics – and to be fair, they usually do. Hemsworth doesn’t do much for us, but if you’ve got a hot actor and he’s working a look that’s slightly off the hot-actor beaten path (i.e., the hair), then you should come up with some looks and a setting that really play to that. This could have been any actor under forty.

Also, Hillary Clinton called and she would like her hair back when you’re done with it, Chris.

Totally agreed, but i must say i love the pic in the blue shirt with the dark red sweater. The colors and textures are awesome and pay up his eyes so much that i can easily ignore how ug his hair looks.

I totally want the orange & white t-shirt and the orange sweater, but micro-sized so they’d fit me. The rest of the clothes are boring. The face is sulky and his least interesting. The blank wall backgrounds seem to shout that the photog apparently couldn’t be arsed with lights or going beyond the alley behind the studio in terms of set. All in all, totally lazy and disappointing. Hems has a great smile and a lovely way of engaging the camera when he doesn’t look completely alienated. What a waste.

You know what would be nice? A facial expression. ANY facial expression. His face looks exactly the same in each picture. That’s a turn off, though he is a pretty nice looking guy.

  Being a Whedon fan, I made it to the theater for Avengers. Which I found great fun. Then Thor showed up on Netflix Streaming. Hemsworth can be quite charming–when he smiles. Which he does in the films. (Of course I saw him in Cabin In The Woods, too.) With a trimmed beard, he looked quite dashing–in full on Thor drag or regular guy clothes!

I am completely incapable of being unbiased or critical when it comes to Chris Hemsworth, so of course I will swoon over just about any pic of him. Though it’s sad that they always attempt to make him look tough in photos when he’s actually a really charming, extremely adorable smiley kind of guy and that is where his real charm lies. He’s a gigantic, physically perfect dork. And his hair is perfect and I hope he never cuts it short ever again.

As for those who think he looks scrawny, he dropped about 40 lbs of his Thor muscle for Rush.
