Oh, Miss Ki. You are so on a fashion high lately. You better pay that stylist a nice fat bonus.

You also need to fire your hairstylist, but let’s not dwell on the negatives right now. Your dress is gorgeous and your clutch is bound to induce envy in other ladies. Well done, girl.

Strange. We’d say this color on any other blonde would tip her into Barbie territory and yet it looks perfectly sophisticated on Kirsten. Of course Barbie would never allow her hair to look so flat and lifeless, so maybe that’s the difference.

Kirsten looks polished and lovely. As for her hair, it looks the best I’ve seen yet at the Aids Fund Raiser it looked like hell again. Her makeup looks great. Love the bag. (how in the world is that model able to walk in those stilletos across a sandy dirt lot?)

The dress needs a good steaming, I think her hair looks nice enough, careless hair goes well with her ‘too smart to be shamelessly vain’ look. Is it just my Melancholia brain washing, or does she always look like she is about to collapse in a heap of exhausted tears?

that clutch is amazing. the dress color is fab. hate satin for the potential wrinkles, but she seems to have gotten that (mostly) under control. agreed about the hair– could be way better, but overall she presents a pretty picture. definitely an upgrade from the disasters she used to sport some years back in her hipster days.

Hem issues aside, she looks fabulous. The simplicity of the design and the belt keep this from going into Barbie territory IMO. And that clutch is something I would Victoria Grayson-level scheme to get my mitts on.

I agree about the hem but I think she looks lovely. I like the hair looks soft and I think goes with the dress.
off note, and a rant…
I despise male designer who thinks if we see those god awful painful shoes long enough that we will think they are OK. As I scrolled down on the models photo I thought what a lovely model, dress, hair and ever thing till I saw the shoes. From then on all I can see are the huge shoes and nothing else.
I think all shoe designers need to walk in shoes like that every day for a year and lets see what they say.

  as a professional platform wearer, i have to note that the thing thats really disturbing about those–& so many of the others–is the width of the heel. it’s not a mean feat–in fact, it’s not much of a feat at all, to wear a shoe that high if yr wearing a wedge. even a thicker heel would cut the pain & the possibility of falling down by a considerable majority percentage.
  
  but those thin heels worry even me. i havent bought any cos i dont see them being wearable as anything but movie shoes: the ones you wear only to a movie, only to a movie where you get dropped off in front of the theater & picked up there after so the only walking you have to do is to yr seat inside. of course, you didnt wear them to walk to the car nor will you wear them to walk from the car to yr house. cos, of course, you cant.
  
  i’ve said this before & i still believe it: the starlets & everyone else who is wearing them so easily, so often mustve had the cosmetic procedure that deadens the nerves in yr feet. i think thats what it does, it came out about a decade ago & i thought about, but didnt, have it done [when i couldve afforded it, unlike now]. thats the only way i can imagine people wearing shoes like this for more than a few minutes at a time.
  
  & i’ve been wearing enormous platforms consistently for about as long as most of the starlet types, the young ones, have been alive, since my father [who was crazy] bought me my first pair, slightly lower, when i was nine years old. so it’s an educated guess, at the very least.

    “movie shoes” – I had a pair of sweet laceup knee high platform boots, purchased at the now defunct NaNa for $5 on clearance that were size narrow and excruciating but pure sex on heels. I wore them only to sit-down events. These new shoes scare me not so much for foot pain as the potential of stepping on a pebble or a crack and having your ankle go out sideways. {shudder}

I dunno. I totally thought “high school chorus uniform, circa 1972-3.” Something my mother could have made from a simple pattern, in a color that was TOTALLY in that year. (Our chorus uniforms in 1972 were white blouses and velvet mini-skirts exactly this hot pink color. The next year, 1973, they were lime green sleeveless maxi-dresses very close to this pattern.)

I was thinking about kirsten and diane and their flat hair and thought maybe the water in cannes is too hard or too soft and that’s what is playing hell with their hair. They are spending so much money time and attention on their looks, it’s just weird that their hair continuously lets them down.

I think she looks perfectly beautiful in this; I feel relieved and I don’t know why. I’ve been waiting for her to hit a home run;
maybe this could be it. I think her hair is fine styled this way, or even as an up-do. Still, she looks a bit tremulous; maybe she
considers this as too mature or serious for her taste. Wish the hem wasn’t so long, curious about the shoes.

I’m actually like her hair. Maybe because it doesn’t look fired and in desperate need of conditioner, but the slight wave is working for me. I like the outfit as well, but I wish she had added a bangle to the mix. Also the skirt needs a quick sweep with the steamer. Despite all that I do like how she looks.

I would have lifted the hemline a few inches, but otherwise this is perfect. The color is made for KiKi’s porcelain complexion. The bag is to DIE for (or KILL for – either way, I must have it), and the earrings are maximally glam. I’d love to see a different hairstyle, though, but that is but a teeny quibble.

TLo seems overly picky with hairstyles lately. I honestly don’t see what they do not like about the hairstyle K. Dunst is sporting. It’s toned down, but it is not “yoga hair”. An up-do might have also worked but I don’t know that it would look better, just different.

I disagree. I think this is a total snooze fest. I prefer my Kiki ala Met Gala. Strange, vintage and Garbo-esque.
