i really like this dress but that comes w/ a caveat:
years ago i used to handsew clothes out of bedsheets & then embroider them, & am pretty sure i made almost exactly the same dress.

I like it too, even though it makes me think of Helen Hayes in “A Farewell to Arms.”  Don’t really like the hair, however.  

I really like it, and I think the casual, shirtwaist styling at the top keeps it from going bridal. 

Man, that model is mad.

I get the point, and I want to love it but something stops me. Kudos for the originality though.   

I’ve always liked her, and it’s good to see her looking decent for the first time in a while. I’m with you, TLo.

I am a huge Jill Sanders fan, so therefore I am incredibly excited by anyone wearing her and when they look fantastic while doing it more power to them, you keep WERQing Leelee!

did not like it at all this morning when I saw the first photo of it, but these with the skirt flared , I sort of love it. Maybe pushing ” summer in the city ” a couple of months, and not sure a bracelet would have hurt, but seems most fashion forward to me. Some real hits and misses over all.. loved Wendi Murdoch and Ivanka Trump ( two names I never like ) and think its sweet that Helena Christensen and Katie Couric could swing by while they were out running errands. Julia Louis-Dreyfus has a painting of herself in her attic that looks like hell, just saying…..

The runway version of the dress doesn’t have a collar, which I think makes it look more modern and less like she’s swimming in a fifties’ shirt-dress. Overall, I like it. I like seeing fuller skirts as an option.

I saw this earlier today on another site…thought she looked amazing!  I was curious to see what/if TLo would say about this. 

Leelee has been missing the mark so often…it’s good to see her hit it finally.  good for her!  

The dress is great, the hair is awful. Truly, truly awful.

Striking and chic, but what’s really selling it for me is how obviously good she feels in the dress. I’m so used to seeing her with a dour expression on the RC I almost didn’t recognize her. However, I think a not-too-severe chignon would be a vast improvement over the alien helmet hair she’s sporting.

I want this dress.

I like the idea of it but it really needs something to anchor the waist. It looks like the weight of the skirt would make the waist twist and shift about. And it just needs… something.

I love the dress and she looks good in it.  I do not like the hair, plus I don’t think the lipstick is her color.

There is nothing here that I like. The hair is even worse than the dress. Hideous from top to bottom. In spite of all that, she seems to be having a good time. I guess it’s possible to WERQ a truly ugly look.

How fantastic. The hair doesn’t do it for me, mostly because you can see the comb marks, but the cut of this is perfect. Bridal? Geez, can people see beyond a color?

She’s mostly pulling it off. It’s certainly better than 99% of what she normally wears. 

I get a Mormon Bride vibe from that.

There’s nothing like a twirly skirt to make a girl happy. It’s even made the usually grim Leelee Sobieski smile and dance!

My only complaint is it looks a bit high waisted from the front but i think it is very striking and i really like the skirt. 

Breathtaking!  (except for the hair. it looks weird.)

I think it’s beautiful: crisp yet floaty, voluminous but neat. Is it nurse-y? I suppose,a little, and I know I wouldn’t like it if she accessorized with a cardigan or bright blue nitrile exam gloves, but she didn’t do either of these things. The hair is a little weird, but I like that it’s swept back severely. It all looks really good on her because her features are strong and dramatic.

Okay, it might be because I am so tired of strapless stuff with cutouts all over the place, or those bandage dresses. The only thing missing from this look is the valet who must accompany Leelee at all times to lift her over puddles and parking lot schmutz, and to throw him or herself between her and a toppling glass of merlot.

It’s perfect. If you’re a nurse who’s getting married right after her shift and doesn’t have time to change. It’s pure uniform up-top, and pure wedding or Quinceanera below. A chunky necklace and a thick leather belt would have made this kind of summer chic (but it still would be better at tea length even then … with some sandals?), but this just looks odd to me. And the Robert Palmer video hair is fugly (IMHO). 

It makes her look very pretty, which is a nice change from her usual dour, suffering countenance. She looks fresh and young, which is what a good dress should do. It’s odd though, because the dress is rather homely. It’s the thin-short-sleeved-cotton-blend-shirt-with-a-clip-on-tie version of a red carpet dress.

If I could get past the hair and the inverted boobs (seriously, wtf) I might like it. But I guess I’ll never know.

That’s a hellofalot of dress there! It goes on and on and on. I hate her hair so much I can’t even really comment on the dress.

A WERQ?  I don’t understand.  I’ve been to all the lectures, done my homework and even showed up for the extra credit lab, but I’m not seeing how you got that answer.  I’m going to have to repeat this semester.

I like it!  Skirt is lovely and the top is casual and tailored enough not to be bridal.   And it is refreshingly free of vulgarity.

It looks like too much volume for her when she is walking in that first picture, in the rest while she is standing or posing in it, I really like it.  This is the rare dress that looks better still than in motion.  She looks pretty and simple and classy and dramatic.  Not an easy combo.

I could get behind it if it wasn’t for the hair.  I wouldn’t even mind if she had copied it from the model, except that it looks ridiculous on both of them.

I also love that dress, but I HATE her hair. Like, viscerally.

I love this dress, and you know who else would look great in it?  Sarah Jessica Parker.

I really hate her hair.  It looks like a slick down helmet/mullet.  The dress, I’m torn.  Hate the top, love the skirt.  But overall, it’s leaning fug than anything else.
