Rihanna in Something Else

No, really. That’s the name of the line: Something Else. We hope you didn’t click on this thinking “something else” meant “something other than clothing,” which would be a safe bet with Ri, but we’re afraid we’ll have to disappoint you this time.

Toothache, Ri? Or is that a hand to the face in despair because you just realized how dumb you look? Because we can deal with shapeless sack dresses and we can deal with visible thigh-highs, but we really can’t deal with a shapeless sack dress PLUS visible thigh-highs PLUS open-toed shoes PLUS red toe-tips. We’re sorry to inform you that your despair in this instance is just good common sense. And that you probably would have looked better if you did have a pounding toothache. You certainly couldn’t look worse.

Not a good look. Those aren’t thigh-highs though. They’re over-the-knee socks. (See the knees right there under the cuff?) Why she’d wear red-toed (or ANY) socks with open-toed shoes though??? *shudder*

From the hemline up she looks good (from what I can tell) but all the nonsense on her legs is just too much. If only she’d stuck with the original, longer length of the dress and simpler footwear. So close…sigh.

When I read “Something Else” I initially thought you might be referring to something other than pajamas…her most recent look that I unfortunately can’t seem to wipe away from my overloaded-with-crap memory bank.

I thought it was a look – maybe not a look for us normal folk, but a Rihanna look – till I got to the red tips of the thigh highs. In *theory* maybe they were a saucy pop of color (and coordinates nicely with her lipstick), but in practice they’re just one touch of random too far.

I don’t hate this. Ri Ri’s style is funky and tarty, and this hits both of those squarely. Besides, I adore it when she shaves one side of her head. That is just the edgiest, sexiest thing.

love her look, no lie. the dress is shapeless on the model, not her because she’s got real and substantial legs to complement the design of the dress. i even love the stocking shoe thing – loose dress, fitted legwear. rihanna takes fashion risks, and its obvious she loves clothes and knows what she likes and chooses to wear them in her own way. more power to her.
