Cover Girl: Rihanna for ELLE France Magazine

RiRi straps on her bitchface (and Atelier Versace) for the cover of Elle.

We kinda hated this collection when it debuted – and it’s become something of a cliche to say it, but the only people we could see pulling off most of the dresses in it were Gaga, Minaj, and RiRi herself. Granted, Elizabeth Banks managed to pull it off, but that’s the thing about edgey looks; sometimes they work on someone as conventional as Elizabeth (or January Jones) precisely because that juxtaposition of edgey and girl-next-door is appealing. It’s perhaps a bit too expected to put Rihanna in this dress, but we can’t deny she’s WERQing the shit out of it.

We don’t miss the blonde hair.

      I always thought she used wigs. I can’t imagine her will hair surviving so many changes. Either way, she needs to stay away from this horrible color.

  Well this is a reprint photo from Elle US so the quality won’t be the best. Chalk it up to Elle France being cheap.

From the pictures in the collection it seems to be metallic and the teal is a reflection.

She’s on my hate list as it is, so I’m biased, but I think she looks like crap on here. The hair’s not helping. I’d love to see that dress on someone else, like Elizabeth Banks, Beyonce, or even Emmy Rossum (not sure why she jumped to mind, but I could see it). Between the fried hair and the stank face, this is the furthest thing from a WERQ in my book.

At least with the blonde hair contrast they stopped short of lightening her skin as much as they have been recently. But definitely not one of her best looks.

What is that metallic blue strip along her left strap (her left, not mine)? It looks messy and not really part of this dress. RiRi looks mean, but I guess that is what she is going for. The hair is awful on her.

I think she’s very beautiful. Blonde, brown, or red. This is another stunning cover; and the color is better than
the harsh orange on the model; although I’m sure Rihanna would carry that off well too.
It’s when shes dressing herself that nasty, tacky and cheap come out to play.

Wow — You are so right about Elizabeth Banks looking amazing in that dress. RiRi will never look good to me until she arrives at an attractive hairdo. She goes from bad to worse. This god-awful blonde phase of hers is making me miss the red.
