We’ll start off by saying we never could stand this guy. WAY too aware of the quirkiness of his looks and it just comes across a bit too forcefully in a “You can’t resist my charms” kinda way.

Plus there was that whole “molesting Halle Berry at the Oscars” thing.

But if we’re being honest, then yes, he does have a great face and it’s not a crime that he knows how to work it. Or at least he used to. We look at these pics and sure, the clothes are great, but he seems to have boiled all his tics and facial poses down to one expression.

What you guys said. He’s always seemed so douchey to me, and this just fits right in with that. It’s like he’s doing “Blue Steel” every time. Ever since he told Charlie Rose that he knows what it was like to be a prisoner in a concentration camp because he went without food for three days in order to play the part of The Pianist, I’ve thought he was a complete douche.

  agreed – and as a lifelong Oscar watcher the Hallie Berry moment was one of the best ever. He had a surprise win (over two pretty powerhouse actors), was pretty young (28 or something) knew that THIS was his moment and let the world know 1) by drop kissing one of the most beautiful women in the world and 2) giving one of the most heartfelt acceptance speeches ever given.

    I have to say I saw it as nothing more than exuberance. He was so delighted to be there.
    As I recall many actors jump the aisles, climb the chairs, and do lots of silly things including cartwheels;
    when they learn they’ve won.   I thought most others saw it the same way. He was celebrating the good fortune
    of being there with everyone else, including Halle.
    
    I also like his quirks, and his charisma that he brings as an actor. As far as the editorial; he’s wearing the
    clothes, they aren’t wearing him.     IMO.

    Funny thing is I like action movies, and science fiction ones even more so. Also my standards are not that high for these movies–even one good scene can redeem the whole thing (like Samuel L. Jackson’s motivating speech and then unexpected and over-the-top demise in Deep Blue Sea or in Blade when N’Bush Wright’s character is asked is she knows how to use a gun and she responds “No, but I’ll learn damn quick”). I can think of nothing that redeemed Predators.

I feel for Halle Berry. A friend and I were just talking about how being forcefully kissed is the worst type of ‘groping’ short of being raped/sexually assaulted – ie worse than someone grabbing your bum or similar. It’s just such an intimate act that to have it forced upon you is shattering.

I know absolutely nothing about Adrien Brody’s character, and I can completely agree that he looks like a huge douche in this spread. I also find myself finding him attractive even though there is seemingly no reason for it. But I will say that The Pianist was one of the most breath taking films I’ve ever seen, and there was not a single thing I would change about his performance in it.

He is an exemplar of negative chemistry, for me. His appearance is smack dab in my wheelhouse for unbridled lust, but somehow he has a very off-putting vibe.

Someone who is very into the furrowed brow chose these shots. Or if he really never lowers the eyebrows, he is one of the very few celebs that I might recommend consider a bit o’ botox.

The green shiny Gucci suit jacket in the next to last shot looks fabulous, from what I can see. A little shiny is o.k., please?, especially for those not often subjected to intense lighting for photography.

I saw him out and about one day here in New York (I think he had just finished a work out session). He is quite attractive in person (and very thin), but his appeal was definitely lessened after the Berry incident and it is completely gone if he actually said he knows what it is like to be a concentration camp prisoner – that level of idiocy is off putting.

I still remember when I got an excited call from a girlfriend squealing that a kid who went to our junior high school (I.S. 145) was a famous actor. I guess there are any number of things seriously wrong with me because I’ve found him gorgeous in his weird way for many years now. He’s a bit awkward in interviews but seems like a good person. I forgive him the HB kiss at the Oscars because I think he was so totally overwhelmed that he lost his mind. I think with a face that unique, he’ll always look interesting in photos.
