She’s out there, poledancing like crazy for The Hunger Games and she’s not about to stop any time soon. What’s kind of cute about Jennifer is that despite her fame, she still comes off a little un-polished on the style front; very much like the average young woman her age. No one has their style locked in at 21, and if they do, they’re doing it wrong. It’s fun to watch her evolve on the red carpet. Let’s take a look, shall we?

Cute, simple, sassy. The Jimmy Choo shoes are KILLA and her hair is gorgeous. If she makes one consistent mistake, it’s that she tends to overdo it just a little bit with each outfit. Not so here. This is just about perfect.

Yes, we’ve reached a point in red carpetry where one is expected to wear two different outfits to a TV show appearance; the one for walking in and the one for the cameras. Honestly, she should’ve stuck with the previous dress. This looks a little stiff and heavy. It’s cute, but not as cute as the LBD she walked in wearing.

See what we mean about not quite as polished as she could be? It’s a really cute dress in a really great color, but it’s obviously not meant to be worn by a gal sporting the kind of boobage she’s sporting. We would have liked to have seen a little bit of jewelry here but then again, she could be wearing the Hope diamond and it still wouldn’t pull focus away from that bustline.

All three dresses look too small. The first look is intended to be a shift style , but on Jennifer it looks like they added some vertical darts to fit it closer to the body. I think the shift is better for such a short dress, but not bad. At least it’s not shiny.
Second dress is obviously meant to be very tight. But I think one size up would have been much better. Third dress way too small. The neckline is opening up too much. It’s a shame because this one could have been the best of all.

  Completely agree. The third one ends up w/ a cummerbund effect because it’s so tight above the ribs. Someone’s dressing her as if she’s got a figure like Zoe Saldana, which is just silly. Enough with the shrunken clothes. Think Jessica Biel, whoever you are, unnamed stylist!

Wow, she does have a lovely bust, no? I say, enjoy showing those off now when you’re 21. At 51, they won’t look quite the same in that dress…… Personally, I hate that PG dress she changed into for the appearance.

  If she’d worn the first dress for the appearance there would be complaints that she had to cross her legs/cover herself while sitting with Dave. She needed a longer dress. The dress isn’t as nice but I think it looks good on her.

Love the first dress, second one is not her dress, 3rd one should have modified the neckline and her shoes are too big. Seriously why do stylist think people will not notice shoes that don’t fit? The hair looks a lot better, but I’m still not a fan of the bangs.

One out of three, sort of:
The first look is the best of the three, and even there I’d go a wee bit longer.
The second dress is just plain ugly on her — heavy, musty-looking, too old, and too tight. (Ellen Barkin, maybe)
The third dress is gorgeous, but looks ridiculous on her. All you can see are boobs. Had the neckline been adjusted, this would have been out of this world.
I hope she and her people don’t think the best way to go is trashy/sexy. There are other options . . .

She’s got a great rack. Better let it out now while she still can! I don’t know what it is about her, maybe that “unpolished” aspect you describe, but I really like her. I feel like she doesn’t take herself so seriously like other “it” girls {Lea Michelle, I’m looking at you!}

  The problem isn’t the airing out, the problem is it doesn’t look like a deliberate choice. The bust simply doesn’t fit, so instead of looking sexy it looks like someone should give the poor thing a sweater. She has an incredible body but her stylist doesn’t seem to have a clue how to dress anyone who isn’t a size -0 bobblehead.

She never looks right to me when she shows a lot of cleavage. I suppose she has the right to decide who she is, but I’m not sure that’s who she is. She was hilarious on Letterman. She comes across as a regular person who’s a little surprised to find herself where she is.

You know what, I think it’s the bangs that make her look a little unpolished, a little juvenile. If you cover up the bangs in the photo with your finger, she morphs into every single other woman on the red carpet – wavy hair, legs, bust, shoes, dress. So in that respect, I appreciate her keeping the bangs and keeping it real.

That Raoul dress is so cute – she looks amazing in these chic and minimal looks.

For some reason, long sleeves on her seem so matronly with me. I noticed the same thing when she wore that Tom Ford dress as well – it made her look 15 years older than she is. Am I the only one seeing this?

I love her in that first dress. Hell, I want that first dress! I can appreciate her changing to the longer PG dress for the show. I think she looks uncomfortable in the green dress, her smile looks a bit forced. I think she can show that much cleavage, perhaps in a different, more supportive dress, but only if she owns it and she isn’t owning it in those shots.

She’s truly adorable and I a fine young actress. I like her bangs too.

I love the first dress.

I imagine there are not too many straight young men complaining about the boobage overflow in the third, even though I feel like lecturing her that I would never let my daughter leave the house like that. I don’t know when it happened, but I have taken a turn toward the old and farty. Sigh.

i confess i prefer the first dress in it’s shift incarnation shown on the models rather than the sheath it’s been morphed into for Jennifer, though a shift does not really work on a gal with a healthy rack, and that is one healthy rack as evidenced by the third dress

Some designer needs to make Jennifer his/her muse, pronto!, and really go for showing off her curves in the most flattering way possible. Yes, I know high fashion requires stick-thin bodies — but Jennifer is one of her generation’s curvier knockouts and so commercial and I just get a sense that there could easily be at least one iconic photo of her somewhere in her future (think Marilyn’s white dress from Seven Year Itch) and why not be the designer who creates it, not as a costume but for the masses?

I really like how the shoes in the first look echo the cutout at the neck. Maybe that’s a little over-obvious, but that’s my level. Hate the boobage on the final look. It could have been (as Sewing Siren said earlier) the best of the lot.

I’m in the “show ‘em while you got ‘em” camp, and I love that emerald green on her, so I think it’s a great look. I do wish she would ease up on the eyeliner a bit, though.

  Everyone seems to be doing the rings of eyeliner, from the uber-famous (Cathy Cambridge) right on down to every young woman in my hick town. Jennifer doesn’t look bad, but I agree she’d look better with less liner. It almost seems like an addiction — once you start, it’s hard to stop!

    When you have light eyes, as I do, it seems as though dark liner makes your eyes stand out more and look even lighter. Unfortunately, it makes eyes look smaller when you apply it top and bottom. Make-up artists should know this.

I notice the second dress is a few inches longer. Maybe she used some common sense and changed to a longer dress so her lady parts are better hidden when she is sitting down? Love, love, love the green dress but it is too small on her. Too bad, in the correct size she would have rocked it.

the first look in the Raoul dress and those fabulous Jimmy Choos is great-the best of the three in my book. The Calvin Klein probably does look better on a smaller-breasted woman.

Cripes, what a BOD on this kid!! She’s delightful. That first look is total perfection. I wish she’d lay off the heavy brocade and gold gowns and stick with the more classic, tailored looks. She seems too grounded and naturally elegant to go throwing her boobs around too much, so I hope she’ll not continue to be upstaged by them as she is in the green, but to learn how to incorporate her curves into the bigger picture. The bangs are silly and I appreciate them because she’s young enough to carry them off.

The second one is waaaay to mature for her. I get that the first one is too short for TV couch sitting, but surely there was something better. and why didn’t they leave her hair down.

First, it’s just ridiculous she (read: any actress) has to change clothes just to leave the building.

Anyways, this girl is adorable and she’s a fantastic actress. She looks cute in every picture. Perhaps a panel should have been added to the Calvin Klein dress to not make the front quite so boobalicious. It’s just an excess of bosom though, nothing vulgar or (God forbid) cheap looking.

  I think the fact that she is about to fall out of that green dress elevates, or lowers it, to vulgar, bordering on trashy. Just not necessary to have everyone worrying you will have a nip-slip. She is supposedly a good actress – the best of them don’t have to resort to flashing boobs to get attention.

Why are people talking about boobs as if they are some sort of blemish that must be covered? I know her life is very different than most girls her age, but she is young, and looks far more demure than most 21 year olds. I do agree the green dress would be better with a fitted bust, but let her proudly show those things off if she so pleases. That’s her prerogative and it doesn’t automatically make her desperate.

The first dress was obviously taken in to fit her curves. The green plunging thing, again altered and not in a good way. She is making mistakes, but not huge ones. She’s making some good choices, color, fit, and shoes. She could do with some softening of the eye make-up with these more casual outfits. The bangs don’t seem to be doing her any favors.

The looks are listed here in my order of preference, with the first being the best on her. I do like that second dress an awful lot, though. the first dress just looks younger and fresher. The green dress is okay on her, and boobs on display don’t necessarily bug me, but she looks like she is about to fall out of that…like it isn’t fitting her correctly. So instead of thinking, “Wow. What a va-va-voom look!” I’m thinking, “Oh dear, please don’t have a wardrobe malfunction in front of a hundred photographers.”

Yup, kind of endearing all round. The first look is perfect. The second and third are designed for those of us who don’t have much up top. She’ll figure it out. And as you said, in the meantime it’s rather heartening to see someone come off as such a normal, albeit successful, 21-year-old.

The first look is great. The second one is too – for Helen Mirren. It’s way too fussy and matronly for someone JL’s age. But it would highlight Queen Helen’s curves in a most fantastic way. The last look is awful. The dress is great but it’s a classic case of something looking chic on a flat-chested model but looking vulgar and tacky on someone with boobs. I’m all for flaunting some cleavage when you’re young and hot, but this isn’t even very flattering. It looks a little desperate and the boobs look like they’re wandering off in different directions. And the too-big shoes make her look like a little girl playing dress-up. She seems refreshingly normal and is very talented but she never looks quite right on the red carpet. She needs some gays, quick.

I’m a 21 year old A-cup with green eyes. I want–nay, need–that last dress. And I love that little vintagey belt, but I’m not so sure about the placement. Just the tinciest bit higher would be perfect, I think.

I think Jennifer Lawrence in general seems like a pretty cool person and I enjoy her, but I HATE HATE HATE HATE those bangs. She does not have the face for bangs. And while we’re at it, the raccoon eyes could stand to go, but I’d put up with them if we could just get her to STOP with those bangs.
