Cover Girl: Dakota Fanning for Wonderland Magazine

All right, Dakota! Now THIS is what we’re talking about!

Dakota Fanning covers the April/May 2012 issue of Wonderland magazine photographed by Cedric Buchet in Emporio Armani.

We bitch at her sometimes for making some rather odd style choices now and then. And while we wouldn’t suggest she doll herself up like a shopgirl in 1910 and shove a rat in her hair, there’s something so adorable here, so “can’t take your eyes off her” that we kinda wish she’d take a page from Helena Bonham Carter’s book. Try to cultivate a look a little off the beaten path of normal starlet looks, ‘koty. You can go from bland to unique with just a little effort.

We never noticed it before, but she’s really made for this sort of period look. She’s got the huge round eyes and tiny lips that Ur-Hollywood found so devastating in actresses like Mary Pickford and the Gishes.

Dakota, you’ve got money. If you had half a brain you’d option a Gish sister biopic pronto. We’re just sayin’, is all. It’s not like you ever listen to your gay uncles when they have excellent advice for you or anything.

I didn’t realize there was an ACTUAL mouse in her hair until I scrolled back up for a second look–thought you were just referring to her rat’s nest. LOL!

She really does look striking when she’s all done up. I agree that she should be a little more bold with her style. Leave the generic blonde look for more generic-looking blondes.

Is there a third Fanning sister? If they don’t fancy playing Lillian and Dorothy they could always option the story of the Talmadges. Norma and Constance were huge, HUGE stars back in the day but now it’s their “lowly, comic” brother-in-law Joseph Frank “Buster” Keaton) who is remembered and celebrated.

There are rats and there are rats. I thought TLo were referring to the sort that were made of human hair and stuffed into hairdos to make them pouf out–very popular in that era. Then I saw the rodent.
