The Heart Truth Red Dress Collection 2012

Darlings, it was The Heart Truth’s Red Dress Fashion Show 2012 and we don’t think we’ve ever had so much fun at a runway show.

The crowd was raucous and ramped-up, the music was LOUD, and every lady who walked that runway was a DIVA for those 3 minutes.

Miss Chaka is a diva no matter what, and she reminded everyone of that by making sure no one could see anyone else’s dress.

We’d seen pictures of this show many times before but never attended before last night. We always wondered why the pictures from this event weren’t always the most flattering and why the ladies who walk insisted on vamping and waving their arms in the air. Now we know. It’s because the mood is one big party and each lady came out to roars, cheers, and applaud. How could anyone be expected to demurely walk like a model after that? Even the former models like Rebecca Romijn and Christie Brinkley were dancing down that runway like our aunts at a wedding.

Totally fun – and a fantastic way to start of Fashion Week.

    She’d have been well-served by some stockings or hose, even if it meant she had to wear closed-toe shoes. But the smile looks real even if the shadows were unfortunate, and that’s why these photos are great – the smiles look real.

  No kidding. I’ve never understood why models have to look so dour (although I guess most of them are hungry). I mean, they’re selling a product. So shouldn’t they look like they’re enjoying the product?

  The Victoria’s Secret show was pretty jolly. I think mostly runway models are not supposed to be more than coat hangers and not distract from the garment. Unless they’ve been forced to wear nose rings. *cough*givenchy*cough*

    It’s possible that she looked fine backstage and during rehearsals, but the flashes from the paps washed her out. I can disappear in pics when the flash is bright enough…

Aisha Tyler is freaking stunning…I simply love her and that is boundless. I love that Chaka Khan (I always was to sing that, Whitney-style) is wearing a Sissy Bear dress!

And Rose McGowan is owning it, but what happened to her face. She was so stunning…and she looks VERY different now. I’ve heard mixed reports that it was intentional or that it was the result of a bad car accident. Either way, kudos for the Jackson strut down the runway.

    I read that it was a slice below her eye that had to be repaired, nothing more. The accident doesn’t explain the overall tightness of her face, the change of shape to her nose and her cheeks. Also, since the repair to the original injury (done in 2007), her face has changed drastically.

    I have known her since she was about 18 and I just can’t believe how famous she got- weird (we went to the same small college and I was two years ahead of her but in the same group. She was in a little band with a good friend of mine who is still trying to break out!).

Oh, I was hoping you’d blog about this show! Look at that fabulous Chris March outfit on that fabulous Chaka Khan! As butterflysunita said below, this is how I wish every runway show could be–all these different-looking women prancing down the runway, showing off their pretty clothes and having fun. They all look great in one way or another!

I had to scroll through three or four times to actually look at the dresses as I was captivated by the beautiful, happy faces and expressive bodies. Now I understand why models in regular fashion shows are vacuous automatons – so you’re not distracted from the clothing.

All these women look fabulous – what a great show! I, too, wish all fashion shows were like this.
