Susan Sarandon and her slightly cloned daughter Eva Amurri Martino play dressup. And since it’s for Neiman Marcus, it’s very pretty, very pricey dressup.

Susan Sarandon and her daughter Eva Amurri Martino star in Neiman Marcus’ The Art of Fashion print campaign for Spring 2012. The campaign was photographed by Mark Abrahams and includes 14 portraits in premier designer fashion including looks by Burberry Prorsum, Carolina Herrera, Chanel, Donna Karan, Etro, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, J. Mendel, Lanvin, Oscar de la Renta, Prada, Tom Ford, Valentino and Vera Wang.

Eva’s beautiful and a pretty good model, but let’s face it, Susan’s the real draw here. The Tom Ford and Lanvin pictures are oddly unflattering, and we’re not entirely sold on that Chanel on her, but she looks amazing in the Oscar de la Renta and J. Mendel shots. And is there a woman on the planet more suited to wear that Prada coat? We don’t think so.

Eva gets more beautiful the older she gets…she’s quite a striking person. Her face is incredibly interesting and I mean that in a positive way and not a back-handed compliment way.

My Dad said this once about Susan Sarandon and it’s so true: “There are more beautiful women in the world, but not many can be as strong a female force as she.” Ah, my Dad’s nice way of trying to explain that this actress gives him a man-tingle.

  Not to mention someone working overtime with Photoshop. I distinctly remember more than a few years ago seeing a photo of Susan Sarandon that showed her hands, and they were the real indicators of her age. No bad cess on that since anno domini is inexorable tho’ some say nay, but they were thin, fragile, ropey and lacking in collagen. Ms. Sarandon is 65 years old. Can I just state that I am impressed that Susan Sarandon’s face looks like an actual face of a woman over 16 in these photos? While I don’t doubt that make-up and photoshop were employed, she looks spectacular – and human.

It’s funny–I find these pictures of both women seem to fit the directive, “channel your inner slut.” The clothes are amazing and I have no doubt that mom and daughter could make them look ready to go to the Metropolitan Opera, but they kind of drag them into a JBF scenario. I like it.

The Chanel dress is way too ingenue for Sarandon. She looks like Sophia Loren in the de la Renta (not necessarily a bad thing, just unexpected). The Prada jacket is really the only one that looks authentic on her.

I can’t tell you how much I hate that Prada coat. The Chanel is realy unflattering. Both the dress and the photo. It looks like her head is floating above her neck (kind of like that weird Gwyenth Paltrow Vogue cover from a couple of years back).

Pretty ladies in pretty nice clothing. I think the only real misses are the Chanel and the Vera Wang that makes Eva’s boob look really weird.

Not an original sentiment, but I want to be Susan Sarandon when I grow up. The one ONE celebrity break up that hit me hard was Sarandon and Robbins. Love it all, except the Chanel. And wow did her daughter end up beautiful. Now that is a face.

I like the Chanel dress (apparently made for a Fanning) on her. It’s surprising and I think she pulls it off. She has a far more interesting figure and face than the model. She looks like a character in a movie that has a complicated but thoughtful backstory.

Ms. Sarandon KILLED in the Oscar dress and jacket – just KILLED! But putting even this amazing example of mature beauty into the Chanel dress meant for a twee little elvish creature from deep within the Magic Forest? No. Just – no. She rocked the J. Mendel, too, and probably looked incredible in the Tom Ford and Lanvin, but the photographs managed to obscure the designs and contort her into unflattering poses. But she is definitely one gorgeous woman. Eva is adorable – a little channeling of a Zooey Deschanel vibe with the wide-eyed, adorable fawn in the headlights expression. Loved her in Burberry Prorsum and Armani.
