Darlings, what’s the very best thing about attending New York Fashion Week? Celebrity spotting! And then bitchily judging their outfits! It’s the least we could do, since their presence causes so many flashes to go off, we’re always a little afraid we’re going to have some sort of seizure.

Can’t stand Giada or her soft-porn cooking show, but we have to admit, she looks pretty great in that color. Maria looks good too, but that sure doesn’t look like a dress for February in New York.

This looked a lot better in person, mainly because she wasn’t sticking her stomach out when the cameras were off her.

Megan is teeny-tiny (and yes, to the many who asked, we will be blogging Smash) and Abigail’s dress is adorable, but the poor girl was swamped by photographers.

And speaking of swamped, Rebecca sent the shutter-snappers into a frenzy when she glided in, all golden and a head taller than anyone else. Love the dress.

This pains us a little, because she was serving up DIVA so much that we broke our own rule and went up to her to tell her how incredible she looked. Just didn’t photograph well.

They both look sharp and we loved their choice in outerwear, but we’re a little partial to the serious little heads behind them. Those guys are dressed FABULOUSLY.

GORGEOUS coat. He walked in and we both said under our breath, in that way that only long-time married couples can manage and still hear each other, “Ohmigod, that COAT.”

All the men at the Duckie Brown show were dressed to the nines. The room was awash in gorgeous outerwear.

      Actually, that way of pronouncing words in Italian is a regionalism. There are MANY different dialects throughout Italy. Re-gutt-a and Mozzarell and bre-zhoot are not incorrect, but they’re not the ONLY correct way to pronounce these words. It simply depends on which region the person is from. I have met native Italians both here and in Italy who pronounce these words ri-COTT-TA, muzza-REL-LAH and pro-SCIUT-TO, with real emphasis on the last syllable, sometimes even with the characteristic Italian wave of the hand for added emphasis, lol.

        I know there are variances, but she says it in such a midwestern or upstate NY way – ri-cot-ta cheese and mazz-a-rella. She should at least sound Italian from somewhere.

    Her roasted acorn squash, gorgonzola, and arugula pizza can make me forgive her almost anything. But then I’m glad I found the recipe on the Food Network web site and didn’t have to sit through the soft porn for it. (The pizza itself is porn, soooo good!)

        I recommend using a pizza stone (they’re not expensive), which makes the crust come out perfectly. I think Giada baked her crust + cheese at 375 for like 25 minutes on a regular sheet pan. But if you use the stone, you crank the oven up to 500, let it warm up for a good half hour with the stone inside, and then bake directly on the stone for just 10 minutes. It makes a big difference, I think.

  YES. I hate her show, especially when she has people. Actually, I find the most of FN show formats insulting. I miss Julia Childs, Yan Can Cook, the Frugal Gourmet, and Jacques Pepin. They were fun to watch, full of information, and hailed from a time before there was a “formula” for a tv chef.

  And that’s why sizing in Hollywood/entertainment is so crazy because after watching Smash I was convinced Megan was cast as the voluptuous Marilyn. I even said to myself (yes I do talk to myself sometimes) that it’s refreshing to see someone with a normal body. Katherine McPhee, while beautiful, is very thin and athletic and “typical” for actresses. My brain is going to ruminate on this one. Must head to IMDB for some red carpet shots of Miss Hilty.

Ok, so Heather Schmidt looks like Lindsay Lohan; Romijn looks stunning and I love that dress; Gia and Maria look very 90′s club wear…not feeling it.

And, true story, I went to school with the Braxton family and it’s INSANE to me how much differently they all look. So much work done to them and it’s a shame because they were all cute back in the day…well, Tamar was in an awkward phase, but so was I, so I can’t be too harsh.
