We like the idea of this dress more than the actuality of it. That blue is just way too shiny and the whole thing looks a little early ’70s prom because of it.

The dress is dramatic, if a little tough to style. The real crime here is the face. Honey, if you can’t afford a professional paint job, then at least pay someone to give you a couple lessons on the basics. You apply your makeup like a 13-year-old.

      Yes, tzitzit have the fringe thing going too, but generally tzitzit is vest-like cotton or wool thing worn UNDER clothing. Very popular where I live (lower east side NYC).

I think my biggest problems with Fearne are the sleeve length and the hair. The hair is frizzy and the shape is aging. The sleeve lenth is too short. Either to the wrists or 3/4, but a couple inches from the wrist make it look like it doesn’t fit. Standing the way she is ins’t helping, either.

Shailene Woodley’s dress is gorgeous, not just on paper. Only a young person could wear this fantasy, and she wears it beautifully.
Notice her hair is done. I think she looks lovely. Represent, girl!

    I believe they are. Unless you take your chances and have Badgley Mischka “design” a dress for you like Melissa McCarthy did at the Golden Globes: we saw how well that turned out. Adele wore Armani Prive and to my knowledge, they do not design plus sizes, but she looked terrific. Personally, I’d be very uneasy having someone who considers a size eight a plus size design a dress for me for all the world to see.
    
    And I disagree with Gayer_Than_Thou (though bow deeply to the name): the Tadashi Shoji that Octavia Spencer wore to the Globes was fantastic.

I think Hayley Atwell’s dress would work if it were tapered down the at the ankles- Swinton style. Meryl looks great and I loved the little Cinderella thing with Colin when she collected her award. I watched Meryl at the BAFTA awards on television. She got her shoe caught going up the stairs to receive her award and stepped completely out of it, leaving it on the stairs. She walked with one shoe on and one shoe off (and it was a really tall shoe) all the way to the podium. She pointed to her shoe and Colin Firth walked off stage to the stairs, fetched it and knelt down to put it on her outstretched foot, much like he was Prince Charming and she was a sexy old Cinderella. She of course, was as elegant and humble as ever related to this, turning it into some kind of darling moment versus something awkward and embarrassing. This is why we love her!
